FL man accused of sex with 12-year-old

Apopka Man Accused Of Having Sex With MySpace Girl, 12:

28-year-old Luis Quinones of Orange County, Florida was arrested this week for having sex with a 12-year-old girl that he met over MySpace.

Again it’s time to remind parents that the minimum age for MySpace is 14.

Anyway, Quinones admitted to having consensual sex with the 12-year-old and is using the ‘she said she was 19’ defense. There is a huge difference between a 19-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl. If you can’t tell the two apart maybe you shouldn’t be trying to breed in the first place.

The girl admits telling Quinones that she was 19 and that they had sex over 20 times and even skipped school to have sex with him.

I would lay odds that at least somewhere along the way he found out she was 12 and didn’t care. And again the ‘she said she was…’ excuse hasn’t worked in the history of the age of consent.

Let’s not forget to ask where was this girl’s parent(s)? But still, the ultimate responsibility lies with Quinones.

  1. Megan wasn’t sixteen, she was thirteen. Lori Drew made a fake Myspace account pretending to be a boy and got the girl to fall in love with the fake boy, then told her “he” thought the world would be a better place without her in it.

  2. Here is my objection. What if the 12 year old girl is so well developed that she looks like she’s 19 or even 21? What is your solution and reccomendation to young men as to make sure she is actually the age she says she is and she is not lying so the guy does not get into this situation in the first place? Is there someway a guy can do some kind of background check?

  3. In some states, a reasonable and good faith belief that the female in question was of age (be it 17, 18, or 16, depending on the state) is a valid defense to statutory rape. However, having sex with a 12 year old would fall under laws against child molestation rather than laws against statutory rape.

But in a lot of states it’s not. What can a young guy do to prevent all this from happening to himself and to keep himself out of this kind of situation? Mst I see young guys being bashed over the head after the fact for statuory rape and child molestation but what can they do to keep this situation from occuring in the first place. I’m asking trench this because he bashes criminals yet gives no solution as to what a typical man can do to protect himself from this kind of situation. MST you’re offering no solution too. Does the law offer a solution that a young man can do to prevent himself from getting into hot water like this?

  5. Dont hook up with girls you meet over the internet, plain and simple. What did everyone do in the old days to meet people, go out, sociialize, bars, night clubs, church, hell, I dont know. I know there are people who have met over the internet and have had good outcomes, but for every 1 good outcome there has got to be about 10 bad ones. To many guys out there think with thier dicks instead of with their heads, I guess If one is going to continue meeting girls this way, just use to common sense, be very very cautious, ask a lot of questions, hell ask to see a drivers liscense, if her stories have a lot of holes, I would walk away.

  7. honestly, I dont think most kids, ages 12-16 really know that much about getting a fake id and most likey I would say that most girls that have fake ID’s are probably at least 18 anyways (I never had one but both my sis’s had one and most of thier friends and they were all 18 and graduated from high school)

  8. KIDS ARE GROWING UP FAST THESE DAYS,THE
KIDS HAVE A BETTER BODY THAN THE MOTHERS
I WATCH THE NEWS AND SAW A 21 YEAR OLD MAN GOING TO JAIL FOR HAVING SEX WITH A 13 YEAR OLD WHO SAID SHE WAS 19, AND LOOKED 19.NOW YES,HE SHOULD BE PUT IN HIS PLACE,BUT ITS MY OPINION THAT IF HE HAS TO GO TO JAIL, SO SHOULD ONE OF HER PARENT,AGAIN I POINT OUT,KIDS ARE NOT LIKE KIDS WHEN I GREW UP,SOME KNOW MORE ABOUT LIFE THAN ADULT DO.ITS TIME WE CHANGE WITH THE TIME,TWO MEN ARE IN JAIL BECAUSE OF HER LYING,HER FATHER SHOULD BE IN JAIL TOO FOR NOT KEEPING HER IN HER PLACE,AND GUYS, GIRL ,ASK FOR ID AND TAKE A PICTURE OF IT TO PLAY IT SAFE,TALK TO A POLICE MAN AND ASK HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF

  9. Stop just randomly screwing people. Actually date them, meet their friends, family. That’ll probably save a lot of you young man some trouble.

PS: A 12 year old girl is not going to ACT like 19 year old (or whatever) girl, no matter how “well developed” she is. Give me a break folks.

  10. Thank you Jae and everyone. Right now we’re in something called a hook up culture and not a dating culture. we need to bring back the dating culture.

Jae my big problem with older folks is that a lot of them they’re set in their ways and they write people my age off as miscrients and thugs. Yeah some of us are. That is true but alot of us are not bad at all. In fact a lot of us are very adept at technology we have a lot to offer in that way. In fact older folks come to us for help. lol.

Anyway, if we’re so bad and uncultured well then sit us down and teach us. Spend some time to get to know people my age and pass your wisdom to us. I don’t know about other people my age but I’m willing to listen to you if you take time to deal with me and others my age if you older folks take the time to teach us. Don’t just bash us over the head. Give us explanations and teach us.

  11. I don’t understand what you need examples of. I’m twenty-one years old. I don’t just sleep around, I date people. Meet their families. Their friends. Get to know them before jumping in the sack. Seems like something people “our age” should understand.

The people of our generation aren’t entirely brainless, they don’t need to be led by the hand. They /need/ to open their freaking eyes and use some common sense.
