Researcher: No Link Between Violent Games & School Shootings:

This is a great post from GamePolitics.com about a study made by Prof. Christopher Ferguson for the Journal of Investigative Psychology and Offender Profiling. Professor Ferguson basically called the rush to condemn video games in the wake of school shootings a ‘moral panic’ and that critics are unfamiliar with the medium.

In layman’s terms, the people who blame video games are moralistic idiots.

But I highly recommend reading the entire GP piece.

Video games don’t cause youth violence. I blame it on the bullies and the school administration that does nothing about it.And don’t even try to give me that whole “its a part of growing up” bullshit. If you think bullying helps to build character, like some idiots out there believe, you didn’t suffer very much of it.
