Craigslist is No Pimp: Keep the Erotic Ads:

I had a feeling that this would happen. I kind of knew that the so-called tech journalists would start to circle the wagons around their beloved craigslist in the wake of the lawsuit filed by the Cook County Sheriff’s Department. This is the first such wagon I’ve seen.

Some jabroni from PC World argues that craigslist isn’t technically a pimp because they make no money off of the erotic services ads. I disagree. Since I’ve started writing about craigslist related crimes I’ve had more than one person from inside the ‘escort’ business tell me that craigslist derives most of its traffic from the erotic service ads and that a lot of people who cruise the erotic ads are also people who place the employment ads on craigslist. In case you were wondering that’s where craigslist makes its money. Not that you’ll ever hear Buckmaster admit that.

The article also defends craigslist saying that it would be irresponsible for a government to censor the erotic services section of craigslist. I retort with isn’t it irresponsible for craigslist to have such an open and unchecked playground for crime?
