CL Collaboration with AGs, NCMEC – Early Results:

It seems that craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster has got a shiny new graph from craigslist’s Pulling Numbers out of our Ass Department. He claims that due to the measures that they’ve put in place that the number of erotic service ads are significantly down, well at least in 5 cities.

While Mr. Buckmaster thinks that is great news he’s missing the overall picture. By my estimation, the number of prostitution arrests that involve craigslist are not on the way down. In my opinion, they’ve remained steady. So by that reasoning, the decrease in ads has not had any effect in curbing prostitution on craigslist. Not to mention that the fact still remains that there is still prostitution going on through craigslist.

So throw as many colorful charts at the media you want. It still means that nothing has changed.
