Germany shootings: Gunman shot dead by police after he kills 16:

Some reports are saying that Tim Kretschmer shot and killed 10 students at Albertville-Realschule bringing the death toll to a possible 16 and that the three teachers he killed were trying to shield the students from the bullets.

Police are saying that Kretschmer had a history of trouble at the school which he left last year.

Kretschmer went into one specific classroom three times asking “Are you all dead yet?“

Other reports are saying that he took the coward’s way out during his standoff with police.

Kretschmer is the son of a local wealthy businessman whose family was licensed to have an extensive gun collection. Gun ownership in Germany is the exception rather than the rule.
