Ill. AG: Craigslist dropping ‘erotic services’ ads:

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has provided us with a little clarification on craigslist’s new adult services section. She says that craigslist is doing away with the erotic services section in favor of the adult services section. She also says that employees of craigslist will be reviewing the ads. You know, the same reviewing craigslist claimed couldn’t possibly be done.

Like I’ve said before while this is a step in the right direction I don’t think I’m out of business just yet.

  1. Seems to me they are just “moving” the ads to a different section. And charging more. It remains to be seen if they will actually do away with the offending ads. I doubt it.

  2. So…since they will no longer have an erotic services section, does this mean that they will no longer donate money to whatever organization they were donating to? Am I the only one who thinks that this might be an attempt on their part to stop their charitable donations, and therefore keep more money for themselves? While still posting the ads that have been the root of a major cybercrime wave?Maybe Buttmeister has more brains than anyone gave him credit for…..nah, probably has nothing to do with intelligence, just some of that down-home greed surfacing. 🙄

  3. Now these AG’s are going to feel emboldened and start demanding all kinds of things happen to Internet services… NO MORE POP UP ADS!! grrrr

  4. This will stop nothing, another clone site will pop up soon.
