Sentencing for Craigslist Murder Suspect:

This murder actually took place in October of 2008 but since it happened in the ‘flyover country’ of Milwaukee, Wisconsin it never cracked the national media. Even I didn’t hear of this one until now.

Anyway, 21-year-old Tammi LaFave was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for her part in the murder of 32-year-old Haroon Khan.

Khan was trying to sell his car on craigslist. LaFave and her boyfriend, Travis Zoellick, went to meet Khan about his car. Instead of buying his car Zoellick and LaFave kidnapped Khan, took him to Watertown, WI where Zoellick stabbed Khan to death.

LaFave said that she was in fear of Zoellick as to why she was so complicit in the crime. The judge and jury would hear no part of that. Let’s go to the judge…

“You drove all the way to Watertown in a separate car, with a cell phone. You could have called your mother, your father, your friends, and explained to them, I’m in a situation, what can I do? But you did nothing,” Judge Carl Ashley said.

Zoellick took the coward’s way out by shooting himself when police came to his house to question him.

I want to say this is murder #12 connected to craigslist. I’ve honestly lost count.
