Prosecution, defense rest in James Zarate murder trial:

The prosecution rested its case against James Zarate this past Thursday. Zarate, as I’m sure you know, is standing trial for the 2005 murder and dismemberment of Jennifer Parks. His older brother Jonathan has already been convicted and sentenced to life.

The prosecution also rested without calling a single witness and Zarate did not testify on his own behalf.

Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday.
