Mims man accused of luring teens online:
39-year-old Daniel J. Coyle of Mims, Florida was arrested for soliciting underage girls on MySpace for the purposes of child pornography.
Allegedly Coyle had 600 fake personas that he would pose as teenage girls in order to gain his victims’ confidence. Then with the fake persona, he would solicit girls for pornographic pictures and videos of themselves. After a while, the fake girls would introduce the victims to their ‘mentor’ Coyle who was using the screen name of Dan-da-Man.
One of the girls he approached told her mom who called police. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office believes that Coyle may have had multiple victims…
The Sexual Offender Registration Tracking Unit of the Sheriffs Office is asking that anyone who may have been victimized by Coyle, contact Agent Mike Spadafora at (321)-633-8419 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477). All calls to CRIMELINE are confidential, and callers can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Parents, just because your kids may be moving to Facebook doesn’t mean they still aren’t using MySpace. Be vigilant.
