Seminole man sentenced to 20 years in prison for sex offenses:

The man with the ironic t-shirt over there is 37-year-old Edward Oberwise of Pinellas County, Florida. He was arrested a while ago for having sex with not one but two underage girls he met through MySpace.We’re not talking 16 and 17-year-olds either. He was caught having sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl and her 14-year-old friend.

This past week a judge sentenced him to 20 years behind bars and 10 years on the sex offender registry once he gets out.

The first time Edward Oberwise drove from Pinellas County to Lithia to meet up with a 12-year-old girl he met on MySpace, the then-37-year-old man performed oral sex on her and her 14-year-old friend in a grocery store parking lot. He also allowed the 12-year-old to perform oral sex on him.

One night in January 2008, he picked the girl and her friend up at a park and drove them to the Sweetbay Supermarket parking lot in FishHawk Ranch. The girls took turns acting as lookouts in the front seat of the car while Oberwise engaged in sex acts with each of them in the back seat, Duran said.

This was no case of ‘she said she was 18’ either. If you can’t tell a girl is 12 you have no business in society.
