Speaking of friend of the site New York attorney Pete Gleason, because we were you know, he has faxed a letter to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer about the problem of human trafficking in the Village Voice Media-owned Backpage.com. VVM is headquartered in Phoenix. The letter goes as follows…
Dear Governor Brewer:
While it is clear you and the state legislature seem fixated on closing your southern border, we here in New York could use your assistance in curtailing a scourge emanating from the great state of Arizona. Specifically, Village Voice Media, headquartered in Phoenix, promotes, across state lines, without any oversight, what appears to be the illicit sex trade.
Unfortunately, all too often what comes with the world’s oldest profession is kidnapping and exploitation. As such, I have attached for your perusal the address for a web site that illuminates the four corners of this malfeasance: https://realcrime.net/
As one can see from the site, there are numerous mentions of what is emanating from Arizona’s own Village Voice Media-fueled Backpage.com. Unfortunately, that includes human trafficking.
I and many other New Yorkers respectfully request that you address this illegal activity emanating from your state that has crossed into our state. Thank you for your attention in this important matter.
I remain Very truly yous,
Peter Gleason
I would add that not only New Yorkers would like to see Governor Brewer address this but people from all over the country as well.
