Man faces charges after Internet sex sting:
Richard Coleman, age unknown, is a soldier at Fort Drum in New York. He’s in hot water after it was found out that he was allegedly soliciting a 13-year-old girl for sex over MySpace.
Coleman was allegedly caught when the girl’s mother was checking the girl’s MySpace which is what most parents should be doing. While reviewing the MySpace the girl started getting messages from Coleman. The mother posing as the girl said that she was 13. Coleman said that he thought the girl was 20 but that’s ok because he likes younger girls.
The mother contacted Fort Drum authorities who set up a meeting with Coleman and arrested him. When his quarters were searched investigators also turned up child porn that Coleman is said to have admitted to.
The girl’s mother was smart enough to check her daughter’s MySpace. Through her diligence, she didn’t have to hear about her daughter being raped after it was too late to do anything about it.
To all the parents out there would you rather have your children pissed off at you because you’re checking their MySpaces and Facebooks or would you rather be the parents of victims of child molestation?
