Sex offender accused of maintaining social networking sites:

30-year-old Shawn Andrew Boggs of Jacksonville, North Carolina has been arrested for being a registered sex offender with a social networking profile. In this case, it’s Facebook. As you should know by now it is illegal for sex offenders to have a Facebook and NC is not afraid to enforce this law. Although they may be afraid to give sex offenders real sentences.

Anyway, Boggs was on the registry for a 2005 conviction where he went to a motel in Raleigh to de-virginzie a 13-year-old girl at a hotel. The girl turned out to be law enforcement. Boggs was also in possession of child porn. To make matters worse Boggs was a Marine at the time of his offense. As far as I can tell he is no longer in the Corps.

He was only sentenced to be on the registry for 10 years even after he admitted he was attracted to ‘young girls’.
