18-year-old Alex Youshock has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity this past week. In August of 2009 Youshock was arrested after he stormed the halls of Hillsdale High in San Mateo, California armed with pipe bombs, a sword and a chainsaw that he kept in a guitar case.
Now with most insanity cases, the defense has to prove that Youshock didn’t know the difference between right and wrong.
Considering he not only built the pipe bombs himself, posed for a picture displaying his pipe bomby wrath and also carried rubber door stops to keep students from escaping I think that it’s not going to be a problem to show that Youshock was well aware of what the consequences of his actions were going to be.
Luckily Youshock’s attack was stopped by a teacher at the school and no one was hurt.
Youshock was 17 at the time of his attack and was charged as an adult. He’s facing life behind bars on attempted murder charges since allegedly this was a premeditated attack against his chemistry teacher who gave him bad grades.
Just another loser who can’t take responsibility for his own actions.
