Man sentenced for sex trafficking of a minor:

I originally posted about Arthur James Chappell here.

The 38-year-old Chappell was convicted back in September of prostituting a 16-year-old girl on both Backpage and craigslist in the Twin Cities area. This past week Chappell was sentenced to 28 years behind bars for sex trafficking a minor.

He was facing life but I can live with a 28-year sentence however we need more sentences like these to show human traffickers that we’re not taking this lightly.

UPDATE 3/29/2013: In a re-sentencing, Chappell was given the 28 years again. His defense had appealed stating that Chappell’s victims participated by their own free will. Yeah, right.
