After a mistrial prosecutors have decided that they will retry the sanity phase of Alex Youshock’s conviction.

Youshock was convicted of attacking Hillsdale High in San Mateo, California armed with pipe bombs, a sword, and a chainsaw in order to try to murder his chemistry teacher.

A jury convicted him in March of attempted murder and weapons charges. But jurors later deadlocked over whether he was sane.

The new trial is scheduled for mid-September.

If Youshock is found insane he could be released from a cracker factory after six months. As I’ve said before Youshock hid his activity from his mom so obviously he knew what he was doing was wrong. The one juror who said that Youshock is insane needs to be smacked in the head.
