Teen charged in school bomb plot to be tried as adult:
17-year-old Jared Cano of Tampa, Florida has been charged as an adult for his alleged plot to attack Freedom High School.
Considering that he was found to be in possession of bomb-making materials and made it known that he wanted to ‘beat’ the body count at Columbine I have no problem whatsoever with this. As a matter of fact, I’m almost downright giddy he has been charged as an adult.
For those of you who say that juveniles should be tried in juvenile court, I say to you that plotting mass murder is far from juvenile.

UPDATE 9/3/2011: For those of you who think Cano should be tried as a juvenile here is what happened when he was transferred to the big boys’ jail…
The 17-year-old arrived at the adult jail Thursday afternoon wearing an Ohio State football jersey and appearing confident and comfortable. He swore at the media as officers escorted him in.
At one point during the booking process, Cano was even seen laughing.
But I’m sure he can be rehabilitated. Yeah, right.

UPDATE 9/18/2011: Cano pleaded not guilty to planning the attack.
