Ex-Rothman aide sentenced in ‘car date’ with cop posing as 15-year-old girl:

49-year-old Robert Decheine used to be an aide for Rep. Steve Rothman (D-NJ). That was until Decheine was arrested last November for meeting with a 15-year-old prostitute that he found on the Village Voice Media-owned backpage.com. Thankfully the prostitute was actually a Gaithersburg, Maryland police officer. Decheine was fired from his position shortly after the arrest.

Decheine was only sentenced to four months in jail. This is the problem with child prostitution and why it continues. It’s because slime like this doesn’t receive any real sentences. Johns who use child prostitutes are nothing more than child molesters and should be treated as such and not given slaps on the wrist like this. Others who were caught in the same sting were only given 15 days in jail. How is this in any way a deterrent? It’s almost like the legal system is giving these offenders a wink and a nod. Why aren’t lawmakers fighting to impose stiffer sentences on these scumbags?

And oh yeah, Backpage’s ‘safeguards’ were a joke even back then obviously.
