UPDATE: Coach Pleads Not Guilty to Child Porn Charges:
45-year-old Robert Vincent Peace of Lake Forest, California was recently arrested and pleaded not guilty to child porn charges. According to investigators, the former kids soccer coach was a Stickam predator.
In 2009 Peace allegedly met a 13-year-old girl on the live-streaming site and convinced her to send explicit videos of herself to him. Once he got the videos, police say that he threatened the girl into sending him more explicit images by saying that he would post the videos online if she didn’t. Peace is said to have posted the videos online anyway. For most of 2009 Stickam still had their private rooms where basically anything went regardless of age.
This came to light in 2011 when a family member of Peace’s discovered child porn on Peace’s computer. Not only did that lead to the alleged videos of his Stickam victim but close to 2000 other child porn images.
Peace is actually a citizen of the UK and is being held on $500K bond.

Even though Stickam got rid of their private rooms almost 3 years ago, there are still plenty of shady live video streaming sites out there. If you don’t want your child becoming a victim to one of these predators, than I suggest you make sure they don’t have access to a webcam and keep all computers in a common area of the house.
No 13-year-old needs a webcam and as I’ve said before, letting them have one is just an open invitation for sexual predators to virtually enter their rooms.
UPDATE 3/3/2012: While examining Peace’s computer, investigators found that Peace had another victim from Stickam. This time it was a 14-year-old girl from Virginia.
