Police: Christian Metal Singer Used Facebook To Lure Underage Girls:

Before we even get started I do not want this post turning into a discussion about religion. This scumbag is about as Christian as Charles Manson.

Anyway, 24-year-old Derek Brunsveld used to be the lead singer of the Ohio based Christian metal band Ludlow Falls. That was until he was arrested for allegedly having sex (child rape) with an underage girl. Police say he used social sites like Facebook and MySpace to find his victim. Police are even saying he may have had more victims.

Now, this isn’t an indictment against Christianity on my part but I’m sure we’ll hear from his defenders saying that these girls lied about their ages and that he’s a God-fearing, church-going, good Christian boy. At his age, I was also a God-fearing, church-going, good Christian boy. But you know what the difference is between me and him? I wasn’t diddling teenage girls. That’s not a very Christian thing to do last time I checked no matter what flavor of Christian you may be.

And before you throw the ‘judge not’ line at me I’ll take a little bit of judgment over child molestation any day.

    I couldn’t agree with you more! There have been rumors around in West Milton Ohio about him long before his arrest. I don’t know how true some of the rumors are, but it sounds like the younger girls 12-16 are his MO. I think the whole thing is very sad, not for him, but sad for the girls. I am sure they have zero comprehension of what kind of a creep he is.

      Couldn’t agree more. Girls that age are more likely to think that a predator like that is ‘in love’ with them.

    If we can’t get into a convo about religion can we at least talk about how much Christian Metal blows?  And It’s right off the bat creepy if a guy says, “Hey baby, I’m in a Christ loving Metal band, wanna drink some Jesus juice and listen to some Stryper?”

    Seriously though, the guy sounds like a total creep, and he seems to be using his lame status (whatever it is, church goer, band guy) to rope in young girls and abuse them.

      There used to be a Christian band back in the day called Barren Cross that I was into. Only because they sung about actual issues and not just how much they love Jesus. 

      Stryper were incredible musicians but they’re lyrics were kind of lame.
