23-year-old Cynthia Worthy of Detroit went missing on Friday after meeting a man for a date. The CBS Local article says that Ms. Worthy met the man on a “social media escorting website”, however news station WXYZ states they met through Backpage. While Backpage is infamous for allegedly facilitating over 80% of all online prostitution in the US it does in fact have a personals section.

Worthy is described as a black female, 5 feet, 3 inches tall and around 200 lbs. with a medium complexion, red and auburn hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt with stone washed bottoms and tan sandals.

Anyone who has seen Worthy or may know of her whereabouts is asked to call Detroit police at 313-596-2200.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family that she is returned without harm.

UPDATE 8/18/015: Tragically Ms. Worthy’s body has been found.
