Arrest warrant issued for Kenny Bartley, again

Arrest warrant issued for Kenny Bartley, again
Kenny Bartley

I’m going to summarize Kenny Bartley’s history as quickly as possible since it’s so long.

In 2005, a then 15-year-old Kenny Bartley brought a gun to Campbell County High School in Tennessee. In trying to get the gun from Bartley’s possession, school principal Ken Bruce was shot and killed. Bartley was charged as an adult and was sentenced to 45 years in prison under a plea deal. In 2013 a new trial was ordered for Bartley and the next year, Bartley was found not guilty in the murder of Ken Bruce but was convicted of reckless homicide and was sentenced to time served. Since his release Bartley has been in and out of trouble with the law. He’s also moved to Virginia to live with his therapist and her family. There have been rumors that Bartley became romantically involved with his therapist. The therapist’s young son also died while left in Bartley’s care and the coroner said the boy was a victim of child abuse. The investigation into his death is still open as far as I know.

More recently, a bench warrant was issued yesterday for Bartley’s arrest for failure to appear before the court. Bartley was supposed to be in court yesterday in Knoxville over a 2017 breaking and entering charge that saw Bartley allegedly break into the Salvation Army office supposedly looking for shelter and substance abuse counselling. His own attorney didn’t even have a reason why his client was not in court.

How long is Bartley going to be allowed to thumb his nose at the law until he leaves another body in his wake?
