Kik, the mobile messaging app that is a preferred tool of sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors, may still have some life left in it. I previously posted that Kik’s parent company was shuttering the app in order to avoid conflict with the SEC over their cryptocurrency called Kin.
Well, the rumors of Kik’s death may have been greatly exaggerated. Those in the cryptocurrency know are reporting that instead of closing the troublesome app, Kik may instead be sold off. Kik has even announced that they may have an interested buyer. Good news for predators but bad news for parents.
Since, in my opinion, Kik did little to discourage predators from using its platform, I can imagine that a new owner might even do less. I have a sick feeling that this is just a new chapter in the twisted saga of Kik.
