In 2011, 19-year-old Carina Saunders was brutally murdered and her dismembered body was found in a duffel bag behind a store in Bethany, Oklahoma. People of interest have been arrested for her murder and were later released. It’s believed that Carina was murdered to send a message to other women who were being prostituted. There is also said to be a video of Carina’s murder out there somewhere. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension of Carina’s killer.
More recently, 28-year-old Sheri Maldonado was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a child at an Oklahoma City skating rink. Maldonado is said to have a history of both drugs and prostitution. Now, law enforcement has confirmed to News 9 in Oklahoma City that Maldonado previously told investigators that she had witnessed Carina’s murder. I wonder if Maldonado is the woman who was said to have been grabbed off the streets and forced to watch Carina being tortured and killed. Having to witness a traumatic event like that could go a long way into explaining Maldonado’s criminal history.
Hopefully, she can provide some information that could lead to an arrest in carina’s murder. My only fear would be that her testimony may not be viewed as credible considering her criminal past, especially with her most recent kidnapping charge.
