You can catch up on the story of Michael Louis McCarron here. To summarize, McCarron was a naval defense contractor working in Guam when he was arrested in 2017 for soliciting a 13-year-old girl he met through craigslist. The girl was actually an NCIS investigator.
Back in October, McCarron was convicted in federal court of attempted enticement of a minor and attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor. During his trial, McCarron’s defense was said to be that since there was no actual girl involved, no crime was committed.
This week, McCarron was sentenced to 120 months behind bars.
The FBI was also investigating McCarron for allegedly prostituting his new wife online.
