A school district in Sugarcreek, Ohio has purchased a new type of specialized dog who is said to be trained to not only find guns but will engage an active shooter. His name is Sailor and it goes without saying that he’s a very good boy.
However, while it’s admirable that the school district would take proactive steps like this to prevent a school shooting, it should never have come to this.
Between armed guards, possibly armed teachers and now guard dogs, our schools are going to look more like prisons than they already do. But God forbid we do anything about the proliferation of guns that are falling into the hands of students.
