This probably isn’t the first time this has happened but it’s the first recorded arrest I’ve seen in the media.
Earlier this week, the LAPD arrested 39-year-old Ying Lien Wang of Santa Monica. She allegedly sold coronavirus tests on craigslist. These tests have not been approved by the FDA and have been known to produce false-negative results.
Police seized 61 of these potentially dangerous tests. Wang is said to have sold these tests to undercover investigators on three separate occasions.
No coronavirus test has been approved by the FDA for home use. So if someone is advertising one, especially on craigslist, it’s either a dangerous fake or an untested kit.
