Do you know how I never miss an opportunity to tell you that Kik is full of sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors? Well, it seems like Snapchat is quickly becoming a very close second.
20-year-old Andrew John Jemmett of Las Vegas, Nevada is accused of allegedly raping an 8-year-old boy. The assault is said to have taken place in April of 2019 in an on-campus bathroom at Idaho State University. Jemmett was said to have been a student there at the time.
Earlier this year, Jemmett was arrested by the Las Vegas Police Department for possession of child porn. It was through this investigation that police realized that Jemmett recorded the assault at ISU.
To make matters worse, Jemmett is also accused of sharing the video on Snapchat at least once.
“Jemmett and the unidentified Snapchat user had multiple conversations about filming and distributing the rape of (the victim),” a criminal complaint reads. “The unidentified Snapchat user agreed to pay Jemmett and (the victim) $150 for making the video.”
So, in case you were wondering how much a child’s innocence is worth, the going rate seems to be about $75 on Snapchat.
Jemmett is set to be tried at the United States Courthouse in Pocatello, Idaho on August 17th.
