38-year-old Scott Michael Dane of Lansing, Michigan, has been arrested and is accused of allegedly supplying alcohol to a 15-year-old boy he met on Snapchat in exchange for explicit photos.
Dane is said to have promised the boy booze in exchange for explicit pictures on Snapchat at first telling the boy “they are not true friends until you see each other’s penis.” Um, that’s not a thing. I’ve been friends with a lot of people and I never saw their penis nor would I want to even if it could do tricks.
Anyway, Dane is also accused of taking the teen to a local minor league soccer game and supplying the teen with liquor with Dane once again requesting explicit photos from the teen. What? No vapes? That seems to be the bribe of choice with predators these days. The kid sent a photo to Dane later that night.
Again, to parents, I say check the privacy settings on your kid’s Snapchat. Make sure that your kid’s profile isn’t set to public. If it is then potentially predators could have a direct line to your kids without you even knowing about it.
