Woman has 14-year-old enter into BDSM contract
Leigh Ann Rhodes

33-year-old Leigh Ann Rhodes of the Pensacola, Florida area, has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy. Now hold your horses on ‘a 14-year-old can’t have a relationship’. I agree with you but we’ll get to that shortly. Rhodes is said to have communicated with her victim through both text messaging and Snapchat.

What makes this ‘relationship’ even more heinous is that it was a BDSM relationship. Not only was this ‘relationship’ based on BDSM but Rhodes allegedly had the 14-year-old enter into a BDSM contract. I don’t know a lot about BDSM relationships but from what I understand, people in consensual BDSM relationships often write up contracts to determine personal boundaries, roles in the relationship, and safewords among other items. In this case, the 14-year-old was the sub or submissive member of the relationship as opposed to the dom or dominant member.

Now, I have no problem with people who are into BDSM. I’ve known people into BDSM who have had more stable relationships than vanilla types. However, these people were adults. Not only can a 14-year-old not consent to a sexual relationship but making them enter into a BDSM contract at such a young age could irreparably damage their view on sexuality for the rest of their life. That’s not even taking into account that a number of predators that have been chronicled on this site have used BDSM as a disguise for being an actual sexual sadist.

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the following as I usually do with one of these stories. This was not a sexual relationship, it is nothing short of child rape as a 14-year-old can not legally consent. Also, this boy is a victim of a crime. Those of you who say ‘I wish I knew someone like that when I was 14’ are part of a much larger problem.
