Recently, I added a new category to the list of dregs that inhabit the mobile messaging app Kik. In the beginning, it was sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors. Then the ever-popular child traffickers were added to the list. Today, it seems we have someone who fits two of those categories.
31-year-old Brandon Bair is a hospital pharmacist in Boston. He was recently arrested for allegedly having 15,000 images of child porn contained within his Kik account. If that wasn’t enough, Bair is also accused of communicating with a Washington man over chat app Discord where Bair was allegedly trying to arrange a meeting with the Washington man’s child for sex. Investigators have no evidence of whether Bair went to Washington or not.
I guess I’m going to have to beat two dead horses today. Along with my usual spiel about how your children should be nowhere near Kik, I once again have to say that this is where child trafficking is really taking place. One can assume that the man from Washington could have been peddling his own child for sex online and that maybe this wasn’t the first time. It’s a sad fact that there are some ‘parents’ who are more than willing to do such a thing to their kids.
As a society, we should be focusing more on this type of child trafficking instead of the one that happens in the fantasy worlds of delusional conspiracy theorists.
