33-year-old Tony Quintanilla of Montgomery County, Maryland was recently arrested for allegedly trying to lure a minor over state lines for the purposes of sex. Quintanilla is said to have offered a minor money for sex on the social network MeetMe.
MeetMe reportedly gave Quintanilla’s chat logs to the NCMEC who in turn gave it to police in Maryland. Quintanilla is currently being held without bond. He is also believed to have stayed with several families in the area and police believe he may have more victims.
Investigators are asking anyone who has information about additional victims to call the Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) at 240-773-5400.
Just because MeetMe caught this guy doesn’t mean that they’ll catch the predator who’s grooming your kid. MeetMe is no place for minors and is essentially an app to find hookups in your area. If you’re not keeping track of what your kids are doing online, it’s quite possible that a predator is.
