19-year-old Andrew N. Gross of Lake in the Hills, Illinois was recently arrested for allegedly possessing and distributing child porn through the mobile messaging app Kik. This shouldn’t be surprising since Kik is the preferred app of sex offenders, pedophiles, child porn collectors, and child traffickers. What is surprising is the age of the suspect in question.
However, before we get to that, Gross was said to be found in possession of videos on his phone that depicted children under the age of 13 being abused. Reportedly, he shared the videos with at least three other Kik users.
While I am the King of Anecdotal evidence, I have noticed a sharp uptick in the past few years of the increasing number of men in their late teens and very early 20s who are being arrested for child porn. So, how did we get here? While I’m sure it’s not the only factor, I think it has a lot to do with the incel community. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of an incel, it stands for involuntary celibate. These are a bunch of toxic young men who gather on the internet and bemoan the fact that girls don’t like them. Don’t underestimate their toxicity, either. If you ever wander into one of their online ratholes, you will find some rather disturbing material. If you want to experience the insanity of incels without exposing yourself to one of their communities, I recommend visiting the Subreddit r/IncelTear.
One of the tenets of inceldom is that women’s prime ‘breeding years’ are while they’re underage. Yes, they believe women’s only sexual purpose is for breeding. Due to this belief, they have no issue with child porn.
Incels are far from harmless either. According to Wikipedia, at least seven mass murders have been committed by incels. Another part of their belief system is that they desire to commit violence against women. Two of the killings committed by incels that I’ve posted about were those of Eliot Rodger of the Isla Vista shootings, and Chris Harper-Mercer of the Umpqua Community College school shooting. Rodger is often considered a martyr within the incel community.
So, what can be done about incels? Being an online toxic asshole with the personality of a rabid neutered chihuahua isn’t against the law. So if you have an incel living under your roof, or in your basement, get them help. There’s no shame in admitting there is a problem. Would you rather have a child who was in therapy or one who was a child predator or mass murderer? Limit their online activity as well. The less they can surround themselves in the incel echo chamber, the better chance they have of recovery. And above all else, do not let them have access to weapons.
Some incels grow out of it, unfortunately, many others do not, those that don’t often go on to be featured in mugshots or body bags.
