A fourth victim has died from their wounds sustained at this past Tuesdays’s school shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan. In addition to 16-year-old Tate Myre, 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin, 17-year-old Justin Shilling has died from his injuries. While it may mean little, my deepest condolences go out to the families of all the victims affected by this senseless tragedy.
The shooter has been identified as 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley, who was an active student at the school. However, details are starting to emerge that Crumbley may have been just another stereotypical copycat killer. Crumbley was said to have worn all black most of the time and was also said to have behavioral problems at school, although those behavioral problems have not been elaborated on. His parents were even at the school the day of the shooting for a face-to-face meeting with teachers over Crumbley’s behavior. Of course, Crumbley was said to have the prerequisite journal detailing his plans along with social media posts of him shooting and showing off the gun used in the shooting. The night prior to the shooting, Crumbley is said to have posted “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds. See you tomorrow, Oxford.” on Instagram. There were also videos of Crumbley talking about planning the shooting on his cell phone.
Speaking of the gun used in the shooting, as mentioned before, it was bought by Crumbley’s father, but we now know it was bought on Black Friday. The reason I think that’s important is that I think Crumbley’s father may have bought the gun to give to Crumbley himself. On social media, Crumbley acts like the gun is his. The above photo is taken from Crumbley’s Instagram. The caption below the photo says a lot.

Essentially, a supposedly grown-ass man was allegedly fooled by a 15-year-old into giving him the means needed to commit mass murder for no other reason but hate.
So I’m sure you’re asking yourselves what kind of parent would give a 15-year-old a 9mm Sig Sauer as a gift? I mean, look at his baby hands trying to grip the gun. Would you believe me if I said that Crumbley’s parents were hardcore Trumpers? Of course, you would. Or at least Crumbley’s mother is.
She is said to have written an open letter to Ex-President Tangerine Sex Pest.
Crumbley went on to tell Trump that she hoped he would “really uncover the politicians for what I believe they really are,” and that he might “shut down Big Pharma, make health care affordable for me and my MIDDLE CLASS family again.” She was in favor of Trump’s long-promised border wall, and noted that she was “not racist” because her grandfather “came straight off the boat in Italy.”
“As a female and a Realtor, thank you for allowing my right to bear arms,” the letter continued. “Allowing me to be protected if I show a home to someone with bad intentions. Thank you for respecting that Amendment.”
She complained about parents at other schools where the “kids come from illegal immigrant parents” and “don’t care about learning.”
It was signed, “A hard working Middle Class Law Abiding Citizen who is sick of getting fucked in the ass and would rather be grabbed by the pussy.”
Classy, and of course, it includes the “I’m not racist, but…” hot take. And some will still wonder why the kid had behavioral problems.
Prosecutors have said they are considering charges against Crumbley’s parents, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Crumbley has been charged as an adult. He has pleaded not guilty to one count of terrorism, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, and 12 counts of possession of a firearm. More charges could be following.
So far, no motive has been made public, and we might not have one for a while as Crumbley is refusing to cooperate with investigators. As mentioned in yesterday’s post, the bullying claim has already been made, but investigators say there is no evidence to support that. If I was pressed to guess a motive, I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out later that he was just another columbiner copycat. I know when you’re a hammer, everything looks like a nail, but more often than not, the copycat theory holds true. It also doesn’t help that many school shooters in the past decade have been engaged in alt-right philosophies. Considering the political views of his parents, this also may not be too far from the truth.
Crumbley is currently being held without bail.
