Who Watches the Watchmen: Kik Kreeper Kop Didn't Know How to Report Krime

I was going to put this post on my Patreon due to a disturbing aspect of this crime, but the suspect said something so anthemic to their position, I had to share it with everyone. It would be laughable if the crime wasn’t so cretinous. Yes, I know, I’m a bad businessman. But, I digress.

36-year-old Daniel Shealy is a former officer of the Rock Hill, South Carolina, Police Department. Rock Hill is a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. Earlier this month, Shealy was convicted of possessing and trading CSAM on the mobile messaging app Kik.

This is where I’m legally required (not really) to remind you that a big chunk of Kik’s userbase consists of sex offenderspedophilesCSAM collectors, and child traffickers.

Using the screen name of, ugh, ‘orgasmd0nor’, Shealy traded and received some pretty vile depictions of children. (I need a chemical shower, now.)

Investigators from the York County Sheriff’s Office were able to access Shealy’s phone by using his badge number as the PIN. I guess his birthday would have been too obvious. It seems like they don’t teach cybersecurity at the police academy.

Surprisingly, Shealy was fired after his arrest. No ‘suspended with pay’ here.

During his trial, Shealy testified he never reported the CSAM because…

he either didn’t know how or was concerned about privacy related to his “intimate life.”

He didn’t know how to report a crime. A police officer, didn’t know how to report a crime.

That has to be the dumbest excuse I’ve ever heard when someone gets caught holding CSAM. That’s dumber than the supposed vigilantes who say they’re collecting CSAM to report it to police.

Shealy is only looking at 20 years behind bars at sentencing. However, he will have to spend the rest of his life on the sex offender registry. The sad thing is, I’m sure there’s a police department out there that would hire him if they could.

Do you know who wouldn’t hire him? Drag queens.
