Who Watches the Watchmen: Another Kop Konvicted of Kik Kreeping

With school being out across most of the country, school shooting news has, thankfully, been light as of late. However, the news never stops when it comes to Kik Kreepers. As a matter of fact, 2025 might just be the Summer of Kreep.

Our first contestant is 37-year-old Anthony Kelly of Roxbury, New Jersey. He pleaded guilty earlier this month to distributing CSAM. Kelly, who is a now-suspended officer from the Dover Police Department, was using the Kik messaging app to distribute over 100 files of child sexual abuse material between July and October of last year.

Kik is a messaging app that allows users to communicate anonymously and share media. It’s been widely criticized, especially by yours truly, for its use by sex offenderspedophilesCSAM collectors, and child traffickers.

Kelly’s arrest stemmed from six CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators traced the material back to a Kik account that, surprise, surprise, belonged to Officer Kelly. He was arrested in late November and is now facing a recommended seven-year prison sentence.

Seven years. That’s it.

When caught, Kelly was suspended without pay. And, as always, the department tried to wash its hands clean with the usual PR fluff about how this is an “isolated incident” and doesn’t reflect the rest of the department. Maybe, but it does reflect a recurring theme, trusted authority figures abusing their positions in the most vile ways possible. I also wonder if this is considered being enough of a ‘bad apple’ where he won’t be able to get a job at another police department.

And of course, he’ll be registering under Megan’s Law when he gets out. If he gets the full sentence, that’s only seven years for distributing dozens of files showing the abuse of children.

This is not rare. This is not isolated. And this is not just a story about one man. It’s a reminder that the people we’re told to trust, officers, educators, and clergy, can just as easily be the ones hiding the darkest crimes.

Pay attention to the apps your kids are using. Especially Kik.

Let’s also not forget that A. Kelly here is not a drag queen.
