The Summer of Kreep kontinues.
Another person in a position of trust caught doing the unthinkable. This time, it’s a kindergarten teacher from Missouri, and the charges are absolutely stomach-turning.
Erika Morton, 36, has been charged with ten felonies, five counts of promoting and five counts of possessing child sexual abuse material. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, she was trading CSAM on the messaging app Kik.
Kik is a messaging app that’s basically a gift to predators. It doesn’t require a verified identity, which makes it perfect for anyone trying to hide. I’ve been warning about Kik for years, since it’s a haven of scum and villainy, but mostly sex offenders, pedophiles, CSAM collectors, and child traffickers.
Troopers say Morton uploaded five explicit videos while chatting with another user in what they described as “sexually charged” conversations. She didn’t just send the videos, she talked about the ages of the children in them and admitted they were under 18. Then she passed the files along to others. And yes, all of this allegedly happened from her own home.
Morton was a Kindergarten teacher in Farmington, Missouri. Let that sit with you for a moment. A teacher trusted to guide and protect the youngest kids, allegedly spending her free time sharing CSAM. That’s not just sick. It’s terrifying.
And once again, we’re seeing the people we’re supposed to trust getting exposed as predators. Every time one of these cases comes up, it chips away at public faith in the institutions meant to safeguard children. And who can blame anyone for feeling that way?
Female offenders in CSAM cases are less common, but not rare. In my experience, when women are involved, it’s often tied to some messed-up romantic relationship. A desperate attempt to impress or please a partner. That hasn’t been confirmed here, but it fits a pattern I’ve seen more than once.
The school district issued a statement without naming Morton but confirmed that a staff member had been arrested and was no longer employed. They claim there’s no sign this involved students or happened on school property, but that only does so much to settle the nerves of parents and the community. Especially when Morton had previously been honored as Teacher of the Year.
Now, she’s behind bars on a $1 million cash-only bond. A hearing to lower that amount is set for June 20. Hopefully, the judge sees this for what it is and keeps her locked up. Because the last place someone like this should ever be is near children, or the internet.
In conclusion, I’m pretty sure she’s not a drag queen.
