In Pierce County, Washington, a 13-year-old boy was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after investigators learned he wasn’t just daydreaming about violence. The boy was allegedly planning a school shooting and had the firepower to carry it out. Deputies say they first got word Friday afternoon that the boy was making threats to kill and bragging about his access to guns. By 1 a.m., sheriff’s deputies and SWAT were at his house serving a seizure of person warrant.
What they found inside looks like the starter kit for America’s next tragedy. A “large quantity” of firearms, both secured and unsecured. Loaded magazines with the words “school shooter” scrawled on them. Clothing and writings describing a “typical mass shooting scenario.” In other words, the fantasy life of a budding killer, interrupted just before he had the chance to turn it into reality.
And this is a 13-year-old.
So let’s start asking some questions. Where did a kid who should barely be old enough to play high school football get access to a “large quantity” of guns? These weren’t Nerf blasters or Airsoft; these were real firearms, stockpiled in his home. That doesn’t happen by accident. Which adult or adults decided that having unsecured weapons lying around a house with a child was a good idea? Because the sheriff’s office isn’t saying this boy broke into a gun shop. Someone gave him access.
And speaking of adults, where the hell are this kid’s parents or guardians? By all accounts, he hasn’t been in school since 2021, when he was nine years old. Four years. That’s not a paperwork oversight. That’s a complete abdication of responsibility. Was he being ‘homeschooled’? And by homeschooled, I mean being raised on YouTube gun culture and the gospel of the Second Amendment. Because this smells less like education and more like indoctrination.
Let’s not pretend we don’t know what kind of ideology fuels this kind of obsession. Investigators seized writings about school shootings and magazines with “school shooter” scribbles. That’s not random. That’s Columbine cosplay, again. If I had to guess, this kid has been soaking in the online cesspool of the so-called “True Crime Community,” or worse, the cult of “Columbiners” who fetishize Harris, Klebold, and every other loser who decided to go out in a blaze of slaughter.
This isn’t just a near miss; it’s a flashing red siren. A 13-year-old with weapons, a four-year gap in his schooling, parents or guardians apparently checked out, and a bedroom shrine to mass murder. If the sheriff’s office hadn’t stepped in, we’d likely be reading about body counts right now.
But unless some hard questions get answered—where the guns came from, who was supposed to be raising this kid, and why nobody noticed he hadn’t been in school for years—this won’t be the last time Pierce County stares down the barrel of a headline like this.
