Judge rejects bond for accused killer:

Alvaro Rafael Castillo was in court this past Thursday to see if his bond would be reduced. His attorney requested that his bond be lowered to $250K-$500K so he could be at home with his mother while he awaits trial. The reason that’s so comical is because if you’ll recall in August of 2006 Castillo shot and killed his father, Rafael Huezo Castillo, while he slept, videotaped some rants of himself where he invoked Columbine and Virginia Tech, e-mailed the principal of Columbine High School, sent his tapes to the Chapel Hill News, then went to Orange High School in Orange County, NC and tried to shoot up the place injuring two students. Does this sound like someone who should be sitting at home with Mommy while awaiting trial? Nope, not to me either.

Luckily a judge denied any bond request and Castillo remains in jail awaiting trial.
