First off I have a request to for the media even though I know it will fall on deaf ears. Please stop referring to Julissa Brisman’s killer as the craigslist killer. He’s not the first and if craigslist doesn’t clean up their act he might not be the last.

Secondly, we now have a better picture of the victim and it seems that she may have been a legitimate masseuse. She has no criminal record of any prostitution. Family and friends say that she belonged to Alcoholics Anonymous and was adhering well to the program. She made her living as an actress and model and did a couple of gigs as a topless waitress at some posh parties but would always deny any shady dealings saying ‘that’s gross’. She gave a lot of her money to her little sister for things like school even buying her a computer when her sister was accepted to college. She was loved by her family and friends so this is no crack whore were dealing with. Steve Huff of True Crime Report has a much more in-depth post about Julissa Brisman.

Now it seems that her killer may have attempted another robbery in Warwick, RI. Police there are saying that a robbery that happened there is eerily similar to what has been going on in Boston. A woman who advertised on craigslist as an exotic dancer was using a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Warwick. Once her client got there he pulled a gun on her and bound her with a plastic cord. Her husband came into the room then the suspect turned the gun on him and fled. The suspect’s physical description is similar to that from the suspect in Boston.

Still no comment yet from craigslist.

    Even if she HAD been a crack whore, her death would be no less tragic. It bothers me when someone is first judged as likely being a prostitute or “crack whore” and then, as we learn that the had a more ‘acceptable’ life, its like there’s an assumption that the situation is even sadder or somehow worse because the victim wasn’t what we often view as a ‘lowlife.’ Crack whores and prostitutes generally still have families and people who love them, and they’re still entitled to the same basic rights that all humans are – including the right to not be murdered and to be treated with dignity in death.

    Fair enough – that is, sadly, too true. I think it was just the phrasing “She was loved by her family and friends so this is no crack whore were dealing with.” It just made it sound like “loved by family &amp friends” and “crack whore” were total opposites. Sorry for jumping to conclusions!

    I think the statement about her not being a crackwhore really is biased and should be removed. As the responder indicated, it really does seem like your comment is biased. Maybe you should edit it instead of saying you did not make yourself clear. Its clear what you thought.

    It is plane old delusional thinking to believe ANYONE would get into to prostitution who didn’t have a drug problem!!!! This is a well documented FACT!!! So yes when you have sex with a hooker you are clearly taking advantage of a sick drug addict!!!Trench please write Bill O’Reily and encourage him to yell at the Craigslist folks!!!!

Can’t tell if this one is serious or not. Anyway, I don’t watch Bill O’Reilly or Fox News for that matter. He’s a hack who should be paying royalties to the estate of Morton Downey Jr. And not all hookers have drug addictions.
