Break out the tiny violin. No, not that one, get the tinier one. It seems that one Philip Markoff, the accused murderer of Julissa Brisman, can’t afford his own attorney. If I remember correctly that means that one will be provided for him.

It seems that Markoff is $130K in the hole on student loans, he receives no financial support from his parents, and he hasn’t held a job in some time.

This kind of makes me wonder if Markoff was trying to pay his bills by gambling which ultimately led to his alleged robbery spree.

I grew up in a gambling town and one of the cardinal rules of gambling is never gamble to pay the bills. It never works out. and in this case, it left someone dead.
