Father Accused Of Eating Child’s Eyes Out:

While allegedly high on PCP 34-year-old Angelo Mendoza of Bakersfield, California bit out the eye of his 4-year-son Angelo Jr. and ate it. Mendoza also bit his son’s other eye to the point of where it is now inoperable. Doctors said that the left eye and the muscle surrounding it were completely gone.

Mendoza is being held on $1M bail.

Why why why do people still insist on doing drugs when they have kids? Since I grew out of using drugs I guess I’ll never understand.

    Holy freakin’ shit! Don’t even bother with a trial for this guy. Throw him in a pit with one really hungry pit bull. Only one, because he needs to die (comparatively) slowly. See, Trench….there is a good use for pit bulls, after all.

    That poor child. Four years old and blind. Every time I think I’ve seen the worst this world has to offer, Trench proves me wrong. I cannot even begin to fathom the terror that little boy must have endured while his sperm donor was assaulting him. It’s a miracle he lived at all.

    What about the mother? Is she dead? The article makes no mention of her, and says the boy is in the custody of CPS. If the mother is alive, and didn’t know what was going on, they should give her first crack at this man. Let her have the pickaxe the neighbor took away from the father. So she can finish the job…..

    Then people wonder why I’m so hard up on those who do drugs…ding ding ding I think we found the reason why! I dealt with parents who were drugs addicts and it was hard growing up. I can’t believe people are so selfish to do drugs that they don’t care about their kids. I want to be in a room with this guy. Just let me at him. He’ll never know what real pain is until I get a hold of him. That poor kid!! He will never see the beauty of the world because his father was selfish and a dumb ass who took drugs and took his child’s eyesight. There’s a special place in hell for people like this!!!

    I hope they release the name of this guy at some point. I hope they release the name of the prison he is sentenced to, and I hope they have him in the general population. I will personally mail letters to each and every one of the inmates in hopes that this scum gets a little bit of what he deserves. I’m not vengeful, usually. But this is the most disgusting, cruel thing I’ve heard of in a long time. There are no words to describe the agony I’m in thinking of the child. Imagine how that child felt.

    That poor boy. I desperately hope that the baby is placed with and adopted by a loving family who will treasure him for the rest of his life. That poor baby. These stories upset me, but I have never cried this hard before. I’m praying for him.

    Un-f-ing BELIEVABLE! According to this news report (http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/45185112.html) the mother was a partial witness.

    She HEARD the child screaming for help, saying he was afraid of his daddy, and she LEFT him there. She left the home! KNOWING her child was afraid and at risk. And this guy abused the child before in 2006. Why was she still WITH him? Why wasn’t he in prison? Why was he even around this child?

    Now I REALLY want to take a trip to California cause it sounds like there are a LOT of people out there who need a killing in this case, from the parents to the social services people who left this baby with these two animals.

    I don’t think the mother should have custody of him. I think he should go to a family that will love him and not let things like this happen to him. If I heard my son crying and screaming like that for me I would turn around and ask him what was wrong. It is clearly this child could tell him mother what was wrong but she ignored him! Not only is this kid gonna suffer from mental issues for the rest of his life he’s not going to be able to see. I can’t believe she left him there like that knowing that this man was a freaking psycho! She had to know!!!!

    I read this story twice, followed the link and am still in shock that this could happen. It is seriously disturbing. That poor little boy! Four years old? He’s going to have that nightmare the rest of his life. I can’t even begin to comprehend the pain this boy went through. I just pray that CPS finds a loving, protective home for this child. He’s going to have a lot of problems for a very long time… that poor baby.

    When I read the heading I thought it is either a joke or it has a symbolic meaning ie it is a metaphor of kind. This is unbelievable disgusting and disturbing. I am shocked cold and being 33 weeks pregnant it is a dangerous thing – could bring on labour – seriously – I actually had a violent reaction, nausea, shock, cold sweat when I read this.

    I cannot think of any thing that can bring true justice for this boy – this man deserves the most inhumane torture possible. It is sickening beyond believe.

    I just can’t let this one go. I’m losing sleep over this child. Natashja, I’m 35 weeks pregnant so I know what you mean about this being so horrible it could bring on labor, but I feel like I HAVE to do something.

    One of the news articles on this says in California, CPS does NOT automatically take away children from parents who are known drug abusers, that there has to be serious physical abuse before they’ll do that. Maybe we can start a letter-writing campaign to get the law changed? Maybe find out what the laws are in our own states and if it’s the same idiocy, write to our own state legislators?

    It may not be much, but it would make me feel like we’re doing something to help this child. Would anyone be interested in doing this with me?

    I would agree with you, IHK2, but I believe it would be a futile attempt. Especially in light of the fact that the government is currently trying to pass a law which would effectively protect rapists and pedophiles. They are trying to make it a hate crime for anyone to discriminate based on ‘sexual preference’. What the law in question really protects is sexual deviance. According to this law, pedophilia is one of the sexual preferences to be protected by this new ‘hate crimes bill’. Do you see why I am not optimistic about a letter writing campaign to protect children from abuse? I think we would better spend our time and resources looking into the things we could do for these children WITHOUT involving government agencies. Just my opinion, though.

I had heard of the man in Texas who ate his OWN eyes out, but how in the world can you hold your child down and do that to him/her??? I just cannot understand at all. Doesnt everyone know by know that PCP is a truly dangerous drug?? UGH. Poor kiddo. Wish I could show him love. “Mom”. needs to be done away with too. Leave her locked in the cell with him while he is high on PCP and stand back and do nothing while he grabs her and eats her eyes out while she is calling out for help. Show her what her little boy went through. Then kill the both of them.

    Trench-don’t take this post down. Even though it is so horrible, people need to be aware of the dangers of drugs and the evil that exists in the world. “Knowledge is power,” and helps us protect ourselves and our families.

    Question for Angel-what law to protect pedophiles that the government is trying to pass are you talking about? We cannot just sit around and let THAT happen! Please pass on information . . . Thanks!

    The fact that this law is even being considered should horrify any decent person, and yet the supreme lawmakers of our land are not only considering it, but some of them have already ‘approved’ it. I find myself more and more disgusted with our government on a weekly (and here lately, on a daily) basis, due to their poor judgment in such matters – and their (apparent) complete lack of morality – coupled with their disregard for the safety of the weakest and most helpless members of our society…our children.

    I have to go now….before my head explodes from the extreme pressure building behind my temples brought on by my prolonged discussion of this topic. I need to go scream now….

I have never used drugs and I never plan to, I had to grow up playing around needles and passed out junkies.     Mother, I read that article and some of the comments. Makes me wonder if he will try to get off with an insanity defense. I sure hope not. This man deserves every horrible thing he gets. Can you imagine not only his child, but the neighbor having to go through this? At least his neighbor was a stand up guy, I like what he said about if he had known what hed done to his son he would have just let him cut his leg off. Too bad. Then he could have just layed there and bled to death.

    This story is f’d up all around! This assface had how many charges against him for crimes against a child? This is completely appalling! The social worker’s, law enforcement and justice (yeah, right!) system ALL failed this poor child. This just makes me physically ill. How is it that he could have done this many terrible things, not been incarcerated and not have had this child removed from this home? Good God, I’m pissed beyond belief!

    We are all upset with POS parents but I have been by there and there is no way the the low life neighbors didn’t heard the baby screaming in terror, they just stood by listened and did nothing to help him they didn’t go in to check on him until after the POS father left the apartment. That is the way these drug infested places are, no call the police but they don’t want the cops around them. I hold them just as responsible as the father There should be a law to send them to jail too. These are slum landlord owned apartments the walls are very thin THEY ALL HEARD AND DID NOTHING!!!!!

    I will never – NEVER – forget this child.

    I have been crying for three days. I read about this on Sunday, and I have cried many times. The horror that this poor boy lived through. He’s just a baby!

    I just want to DO something. I would donate my eyes if they were any good, but my vision is terrible and they’ve got a bunch of scars. I honestly, truly would donate my eyes to him. That poor child.

    But please. Stop blaming the neighbors and various acquaintances with not calling for help at the scream of babies. Each and every single one of us who’s been a parent can guarantee that screaming noises come from the babies that we don’t expect. So yeah, if a neighbor or loved one may hear a baby screaming, it might be a normal thing, something you hear every other day. But if we see them with blood pouring from their eyes and screams on their lips, we might actually pay attention.

    Let’s put the blame where it belongs. Yeah?

    On another thread some people got on to me cause I express some pleasure as to the outcome of certain events pertaining to certain people. OK. Granted it might not have been appropriate concerning the victim. As to this thread I would say to the people here do not become the monster that you condemn. No punishment can truly fit this crime. Just lock this guy up and throw away the key.

    If it were possible by some future means of medical technology. Remove this man’s eyes and put them into his son’s.

    I saw this first on yahoo news, ’cause honestly, I’ve been avoiding this site to try to reduce my “horror intake”. 😛

    I saw the news broadcast on the web that said a neighbor only knew something was wrong when he saw the dad go outside (in his wheelchair) and start hacking at his own legs with an axe.

    The neighbor then stopped the man (unfortunately) from finishing the job on his own legs.

    I find myself wanting to push the neighbor away, grab that axe, and help the dad finish the job of removing his own legs. &gt:

    Wish the neighbor had known something was wrong in time to save the little boy.

    This is really horrific. I’m still not sure if it’s worse than the poor little baby who died while sitting in his (her?) unchanged diaper for 8 days. I can’t decide.

    I hope the little boy never has to be around his father again.

    Maybe they can give the little boy an eye transplant.

    I have read horrible ones myself and nothing comes close to being as disturbing as this one, I never in my wildest thought I would hear something like this.

    The sick part about it I bet this fucker doesn’t even get life or the death sentence because the crime does not fall under the guidelines of a life or death sentence. AND because he is a prick he will get protective custody because prison justice will kill him and we have to protect fuckers like this because of the stupid ass constitution we built our crooked country on! Sorry to all political but this is horrible and truly unfair to this poor child who is the only victim in this case. My sone is 4 and all I keep thinking about is something like that happening to him, he would remember it for the rest of his poor life! I would glady kill this asshole for him. PCP, GREAT drug

And set a Grizzly bear loose on his sorry ass, after the ants have had their turn. Or maybe let a couple of buzzards peck his eyes out, first. Be sure and tape his eyes open, so he will be able to see the birds, and fully appreciate what is about to happen to him. And dig a tunnel into the dirt, down to his private parts, and put a little honey there as well.

    He SAYS its because he wants to take care of the boy and show him his family still loves him. More likely he’s hoping to get his hands on the donation money that’s sure to come pouring in to support this little boy.

    You cannot tell me this UNCLE was unaware of his brother’s drug problem or how that baby was being abused. Another article says there was plenty of evidence of past child abuse and drug use in the home. Yet “Uncle” did NOTHING? And now he wants a shot at further f-ing up the kid?

    Just take the child away from ALL of them and place him with some loving family as far from Bakersfield as they can get him.

    I guess I would want to ensure he’s not allergic to bee stings first. Anaphalactic shock might be too quick a death… oh, crap, Lord forgive me. 😛

    According to Dr. James Dobson, who did an interview with Ted Bundy, he believes Bundy had a genuine conversion to Christianity. Bundy was even looking forward to being put to death so it would give closure to the families of his victims.

    If Bundy could repent and turn to God, even this guy can. But I hope that doesn’t mean he ever gets any visits with his son, unless they are STRICTLY SUPERVISED, and only if the son actually wants the visit. I don’t think he should ever get custody of his son again.

    Uhm, guys, I think I’m done. Last night I went a little nuts and just kept clicking on link after link to horrific stories on this website. I was getting pretty upset, and making myself nauseated.

    I hadn’t been here in a few weeks, and it was almost like I’d “fallen off the wagon.”

    This website is like driving past several car wrecks on the highway: you don’t want to be a looky-loo, but you still can’t resist turning your head. You want to know what happens, if the parents get punished, if the child survived and is ok now, etc., etc.

    @Trench: I don’t know how you do this day in, day out. Dude, you are a very strong person. I have a great deal of respect for you. I don’t sense that you enjoy the horror that you are exposed to… I sense that you feel it needs to be known about, to be reported and not covered up.

    I wish you good luck in your job maintaining this site, and hope you don’t burn out. I noticed there seems to have been a few different people maintaining this site… I imagine the turnaround is due to burning out on this subject. 😛

    Sith there is evil in the world and you shouldn’t let it get to you. People do all kinds of horrible things to each other. I think we are still evolving into humans. We as a race are not quite there yet. It would seem that some of us are still more animal than human. Animals tear each other apart and they don’t think twice about it.

    I live here where the story took place. It haunts us all. This community is sick and saddened by poor Angel’s story. Our local board of supervisors is getting involved and so is a state senator. I see and deal with a lot that kids go through here because I am in education. I cried my eyes out over this one.

We watch them (and read them) and try to constantly improve our abilities in that department. I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in the care and upbringing of children. They have been an immense help to our family…..

    I purchased Dr. Dobson’s book on raising a strong willed child. My son may not be a strong willed child — he may just be a normal amount of stubborn, and since he’s my first, I don’t know any better, lol. However, considering his parents (hee-hee), I’m betting he’s going to be very stubborn. )

    Haven’t read Dr. Dobson’s book yet.

    — SithSnoopy, who isn’t really here. Just had to respond re: Dobson. Am now going to run away before I stupidly look at the latest horrific story.

    Although, while I’m here, I saw this thing on 20/20 or something last night about these “Christian” ministers in South Africa who do exorcisms on LITTLE KIDS that their parents have been convinced are witches. Why are they convinced they are witches? The ministers tell them they are. The ministers charge for the exorcisms, and do disturbing, painful things to the children. The ministers at one point pull out flesh that contains whatever (demon, sorcery, whatever) made the child a witch. At least this part isn’t really pulling flesh out… it’s clearly faked. It was something the minister already had in his hand.

    But as part of the process, candle wax is dropped on the child’s stomach while he/she is held down. Other things are done.

    The parents are encouraged to believe that the reason there is illness or misfortune in their family is their witch-children.

    The Government can’t do too much about it because many high-up people are in those churches. And the Government, scarily, says that a child is a witch if they have a bloated belly. And something else, can’t remember. But for crying out loud, a malnourished child will have a bloated belly.

    Many of these children end up being abandoned. If a child isn’t wanted in the first place, the parents will call it a witch in order to justify getting rid of it.

    There was this Christian (Catholic?) fellow who is down there trying to stop all of this insanity, trying to rescue the children. He and the 20/20 reporters confronted the “ministers”, but the ministers stuck to their story.

    At one point, the fellow broke down crying while talking to one of the children.

    These children all had this hollow look in their faces. They were definitely suffering from post-traumatic stress.

    As a Christian, I am horrified by what these so-called ministers are doing to these children. Jesus would NOT agree with what they were doing to these little innocent, helpless children. I mean, some where as young as 3! Maybe younger! How is a 3 year old a witch?!?

    These children must think now that Jesus was for torturing children, thanks to these evil greedy ministers. The psychological damage from having their parents approve/request the exorcisms, and/or being abandoned, and/or being told that God said they needed to be tortured…

    The abandoned children end up living on the streets. The girls end up prostitutes, and end up being teenagers with babies who leave their babies on the side of the road while they take care of business. [The way it was said, I assumed they came back to their children. They just weren’t going to perform the sex act in front of them. Heh, unlike some parents that end up being talked about here.]

    Ok… ok… must stop now. Going away again. Really.

    Yeah, I don’t believe me, either.

    I’m an American who’s lived in South Africa for six years. I’ve seen nothing on these so called Christian ministers exorcising children, although many of the people still believe in witches (most of them old women) and tend to burn their shacks down.

    Natashja, you’re South African. Are you aware of these circumstances?

    The video series we are currently watching by Mr. Dobson is one on discipline. Very informative. Even the kids enjoy watching it.

    I understand. Yeah, Nigeria is a country on the western cape of Africa, whereas South Africa is at the bottom of the continent. I’m sure you remember this country, where most of the diamonds, gold, titanium come from, and where apartheid died 15 years ago. So I was worried. Thank you for getting back with me.

    @ Southern Lady, No hun I have never heard of this! I am flabbergasted. I know in SA there are Sangomas that kill children to use in muti sacrifices etc but this doesnt happen very often and the majority of South-Africans are civilised people who do not practise witchcraft nor believe in it. I admit that alot of our black citizens do believe in their ancestors and also the african rituals but this is slowly but surely dieing out as they are getting for Europeanized (word??) I am also yet to hear that any Anglican / Catholic priest in SA performed an exorcism on anyone let alone kids. By the way, there is alot of South Africans that are afraid of the Nigerians – they are ruthless people and those that you get here are deeply involved with Syndicates and Child Prostitution / Trafficking as well as Drug Trafficking and we stay FAR AWAY from them so I am not very surprised to hear what is happening in Nigeria. I tend not to mix with anyone that has a Nigerian contact and I will run I mile if I had to come face to face with one (I kid you not). You must understand that some of these african countries are still very much in the dark ages and practises abominable rituals. They have not evolved into human beings yet.

    In brief, an idiot friend of the evil sperm donor is claiming dad suffered from schizophrenia and went off his meds and THAT’s why he attacked the little boy. And the uncle (brother of sperm donor) IS seeking custody, but apparently has no criminal record, so maybe his heart IS in the right place. I can only hope so. This little boy deserves a break – and a safe, loving family – as much as any child we’ve ever seen on this blog.
