Today’s e-mail comes from Bob. Bob writes…

You don’t understand the internet. Getting ride of Craigslist won’t solve any problems it will drive them further underground. Do you know anything about the drug industry or prostitution?

I don’t know what pharmaceutical companies have to do with anything and I don’t even want to know how to ride craigslist.

Luckily I’m fluent in idiot. What Bob is trying to say is that if craigslist is shut down prostitution and drug dealing will be driven to the mysterious underground which I think is near Parts Unknown.

First off I’m not trying to get craigslist shut down. I merely want them to monitor their site better for criminal activity. Secondly, it’s a good thing that drugs and prostitution are driven underground because that means they’re not happening as often. Bob is probably one of those people who want police to go after ‘real crime’ so he can go back to his hookers and blow that he got off of craigslist.

That’s all the mail for today. Until next time ain’t no one dope as me.

  1. ZC, I used to think that prostitution should be legal until I started doing the whole craigslist thing. That’s when I realized that even if it was legal it still wouldn’t stop human trafficking and child prostitution. And I totally agree with you about the government control aspect. Once they have control of something they never give it up.

  2. LOL…as a Libertarian…I’m torn. But It’s easy enough to sum up for me about one thing…prostitution…yeah…I REALLY want to pay to put my penis where a few thousand other guys have put theirs….eeeeeeewwwwwwww. No thanks….where’s that damn vomiting emoticon?!?!?!?!?!And yeah…Craigslist really needs to police their site and stop playing the, “Hey…not OUR fault if lots of folks use our site to rob and murder people” card. Libertarianism is all about being responsible…BE RESPONSIBLE! How difficult a concept is it?BTW Bob, craigslist’s behavior and lack of responsibility is the type of irresponsible behavior that will eventually give the government an excuse to COMPLETELY control the content and tax the living beejesus out of your beloved internet…just think how nice that will be. Do you know anything about how the government operates?

  3. Trench – I dont think you ever once said you wanted craigslist shut down, I for one dont (where would I then go to get a great deal on an IPOD, PS3 or many of the other great buys I have gotten off craigslist, it is much more convienent than Ebay and if you are smart and dont be stupid, it is very safe). Based on all the articles I have read in regards to craigslist hookers, the site has made it easier for an average joe who wouldnt normally go crusing the streets looking for a hook up to find one, I feel that craigslist makes it easier for men to find it and since in todays socicety we are all lazy, more men are seeking it this way, if you take away the convience factor of it, I think most men will just go back to internet porn, that is just my opinion (and on the reverse, I think more girls find it easier to make a fast buck because the internet gives them a false sense of security, I dont know for sure, but I would guess that a lot of the girls advertising themselves on craigslist arent the kind of girls to go strolling down Robinson (that is a high prostitute street in Oklahoma City) but I think that alot think that the internet is, eh, more upscale -for lack of a better word, than the streets.
