Granite City MySpace sex offender gets life plus 10 years:

37-year-old Carl Courtright III from Granite City, Illinois was sentenced to life plus 10 years on charges of child molestation and child porn.

This is the kind of scumbag he is…

Evidence presented at trial revealed that Courtright had caused a local female child to engage in sexually explicit conduct and photographed the activity. He also downloaded pornographic videos and photographs of prepubescent children being raped by adult males.

Courtright is said to be the first sex offender to be convicted after MySpace turned over his information to law enforcement since he was a registered sex offender on the site.

Life plus ten is a welcome change compared to the six months that a man who committed similar crimes in Washington state got.

  1. Wow, nice work by MySpace. Now if only local states can figure out a way to fully monitor the internet usage of their violent sex offenders, the neighborhoods might be safe again.

  2. Go Illinois!!!

That’s an acceptable sentence. These people are dangerous, and most of them get off light with only having to register as sex offenders. Registering is nowhere near an acceptable punishment, because it’s not really protecting anyone.

Life plus 10 works, because the only person he’ll get to molest from now on is his cellmate.

  3. Can we send all child molesters and child rapists to be tried in this judge’s courtroom? I’ll pay for the cost of transporting them myself.

  4. Hell, I’ll drive them myself. There may be one or trwo detours along the way to the scenic Trench Reynolds Museum of Whupass but they’ll get there.

  5. Where is that Museum located? I’m looking for an interesting vacation spot to visit next summer. I really enjoy going to new museums – they are soooo educational……Do the museum visitors get to participate in any of the activities? Like opening a couple cans of industrial strength Whupass for the museum director to apply to the aforementioned sex offenders (or should they be referred to as ‘exhibits’?)…….lol

  6. It’s actually a mobile museum that does touring exhibitions.

  7. Hahaha. When will the museum be in my neck of the woods?? Oops, maybe I don’t want that…..if the museum came here it would probably mean there was someone in need of harsh sentencing living nearby. We don’t need any museums here, anyway….we have abandoned quarries that do a much better job on sexual predators than any judge I’ve ever heard of. And they don’t require any of my tax dollars! 🙂
