Peoria woman sentenced to 50 years for death of son:

You remember Tracy Hermann and James Sargent don’t you? They were the scumbag Breeders that left their 5-month-old son Benjamin strapped in his car seat in his crib for days while they went about their lives not feeding him, changing him or even checking on him.

The last we heard Sargent was sentenced to 100 years for his part in Benjamin’s death. Now Hermann has been sentenced to 50 years.

No word yet on why she only got half of what Sargent got. At least if she does get out she’ll be well past child-bearing age.

    I remember them. They should seve their time strapped to a chair…. A wooden one…. with splinters…. surrounded by pictures of the baby on all 4 walls.

    i think a sentence of 50 years for the crime she comitted is pure bullshit!!! she was just as guilty as he was ….more so, in my opinion, because she was the child’s mother. she was home during the time period that the baby was going through hell and not only didn’t give a shit, but took off towards the end to meet up with her internet guy. 50 years???? take off 25 for good behavior another 5 or so for classes she’ll take out of sheer boredom(parenting classes, etc) and she’ll be out in 20 years or less. pure BULLSHIT. they should both get life with no parole.

    Forget life without parole for either of them… the chair they should be strapped to should be hooked up to wires, electricity, and a switch.

    Maybe it’s just because I’m about to give birth, but this story just sickens me and brings tears to my eyes… how can anyone do that to an innocent, defenseless baby??? There are probably hundreds of people out there who are unable to have children of their own who would have loved to give that baby the love and care he deserved, and would have been fantastic parents. Apparently they couldn’t even spare the time out of their busy social calendars to put him up for adoption and find a good home for him.

    These two are just vile, evil, human garbage… wastes of oxygen, resources, and space.

    I’ve been watching SHOtime’s Dexter. I’m hooked.

    Can we sic a Dexter on the two of them, with the goal being to torture then to death for… what was it, 8 days? Not let them die until the last day. Oh, and torture them remotely, w/o having anyone there who will give them eye contact. So, they’d have to be tortured in separate rooms, of course.

    I can’t deal with these people who think children are so expendable. Doesn’t anyone learn the Golden Rule anymore? “Do unto others what you would have done unto you”????

    At the risk of being a bore, I will restate my opinion on what their punishment should be. I think they should be lowered, naked, into a full septic tank. Make sure that you have a plate of their very favorite food within sight, but just out of reach. They should be required to remain there until they are dead.

    Since they have not been awarded the DP though, they should both be made to serve their entire sentences in such a manner. It is possible to keep them just barely alive but in constant pain and suffering. In my opinion, no one deserves it more…. 😈

    Unreal. Love their mug shots in the article, scary!!! Seriously, she says to the court that she made a “mistake” allowing her son to be subjected to that treatment???? That was not a mistake!! How could it not tear you up, especially as a mother, to see your baby tortured like that?? A mother’s natural instinct is to love and nurture their baby. This woman obviously lacks that and allowed and/or contributed to his agonizing death. For her to only get half of what that guy got is an insult. It’s an insult to that poor baby who had no chance. She should never see the light of day ever.

    According to the plea agreement she’ll serve the whole time, which is good and I hope is true – I don’t know about him but I’d hope that he’d be required to serve at least half. I think they both deserve equal sentences, having a vagina should not make you more responsible for your children, and having a penis shouldn’t make you less responsible. It takes two to make a baby and should take two to raise one.

    This story still makes me sick to my stomach! That poor little baby and what pain he must have experienced in his short life. I just pray once again, that they both get some good ole’ fashion prison justice behind bars!

    Just so you know, she’s not eligible for parole or any sort of early release. She will have to serve her entire sentence, meaning she’ll be getting out when she’s about 72. Nearly her entire adult life will be spent in prison at the mercy of the other prisoners. And what will she do when she gets out? She’ll have no family left, no job, no social security, nothing. She’ll probably be living on the streets and will probably die there too.

    Not as good as letting them rot to death in a septic tank, but at least the rest of her life should be pretty hellish.

    Why oh WHY did the grandmother drop the baby off at that filthy house? If she had kept little Benjamin, he’d still be alive……!
