Nancy Grace Camera Shy?:

How’s this for irony? Nancy Grace is being sued by the family of Melinda Duckett for causing Duckett’s suicide. If you don’t know the story Melinda Duckett was believed to have had some involvement in the disappearance of her son Trenton Duckett who to this day has not been found.

Duckett was a guest on Grace’s show in 2006 and Grace grilled her on the show as to where Trenton was. The next day Melinda Duckett committed suicide probably sealing the fate of Trenton who, like I said, has still yet to be found.

Now, Grace is suing to keep her videotaped deposition from being leaked for fear that someone would…

“cut and splice” and “manipulate” her words into sound bites that would appear “wholly out of context.”

I think the HQ of the Irony Police just exploded.

Secondly, I have a question for the legal experts out there. Why was she never charged with hindering an ongoing investigation by putting Duckett on the air and interrogating her on nationwide TV if Duckett was their main suspect?

Lastly, I do have something personal against Ms. Grace. She’s a cherry picker. She picks stories that have already captured the ‘imagination’ of America by focusing on stories like Casey Anthony and Haleigh Cummings. However, when I spoke to her my self on a live podcast, not mine of course, and told her about the case of Giovanni Gonzalez she seemed interested and took all the information I had to give her yet no mention of Giovanni has ever came from her lips on any of her broadcasts. The whole time I was talking to her I felt like I was making a deal with the devil but I didn’t care because I thought any help to find Giovanni would be appreciated.

She doesn’t really care about children in my opinion. She only cares about ratings.

  1. I totally agree with you, Nancy Grace doesn’t care about kids. She tries to seem hardcore but refuses to ask the obvious questions a lot of times.

I never thought she should have been charged or even sued over Melinda Duckett…that woman was mentally unstable and probably couldn’t handle the guilt. If she was truly innocent the questioning wouldn’t have bothered her. She wouldn’t ever tell what happened to Trenton, we all know he’s dead just like Cayle was.

  2. Posting a link to your write-up on Giovanni Gonzalez caused me to be banned from mothering.com forums. (Just after you posted the anniversary story)

Thought you’d get a laugh at that.

(well and then cry because another attempt to get the word out has been thwarted)

  3. I totally agree with you. Ms. Grace does not care about children. Indeed, she has her own children, but I also think that she is into her ratings moreso than the welfare of children.

  4. I hate Nancy Grace. She comes off as a self-righteous know-it-all with no compassion for the children that she claims to be doing it all for. She proclaims her opinions as fact and berates anyone who disagrees with her. And those “experts” she has on her show, what-fucking-ever.

The only reason I know so much about her show is that my fiance watches it evry fucking day, just so he can yell at the TV about what a bitch she is. The things I put up with in the name of love.

  5. To bad, bitch.

    Per TMZ:

Grace has been ordered to sit for a deposition on Thursday with a camera rolling .. according to a judge’s order obtained by TMZ.

Grace and CNN are being sued by the parents of a woman who committed suicide after appearing on Grace’s TV show. The parents claim Grace accused the woman of being responsible for the disappearance of her son.

The parents sued Grace and CNN for wrongful death, but Grace did not want her deposition taped because she feared clips would appear on TV and online, taking her out of context and splicing bits and pieces together to make her look bad — sound familiar?

The judge ruled that Grace’s depo can be videotaped, but the tape cannot be released to the media or anyone else without the court’s permission.

The judge said since the parents’ lawyer agreed not to release the video to third parties without court approval, there was no need to address “the evils” Grace complained of — that “disclosure of the videotape of Ms. Grace’s deposition” was designed to “harass, embarrass and intimidate Ms. Grace and corrupt the jury pool.”

The deposition will be taken in Atlanta on Thursday. Makeup

  6. I don’t care for her style and cannot watch her. However, I do not believe she is responsible for someone’s suicide. I think the lawsuit is flawed.

  7. Of course it’s all about the ratings for Nancy Grace. That’s why she’s on TV. She cares about her image, her ratings, and her “stardom”. In other words, it’s ALL about Nancy Grace.
I don’t care for her, and I don’t watch her show at all anymore.
I don’t believe she caused anyone’s suicide, though.
I’m not a legal expert, but I imagine she wasn’t charged with hindering an investigation because Duckett appeared on Nancy’s show of her own free will, perhaps against the advice of her lawyers, but Nancy didn’t do anything illegal by interviewing her. Duckett could have refused to answer, or even walked out of the interview at any time.

  8. Do the Irony Police have a connection with the Bitter Irony Police? …been trying to find them for years….

  9. Nothing but a publicity whore…Even when it comes to her own children. Oh let me show everyone their pictures so all you sheep who follow me can send them crap. I hate her and I hate that CNN is the only channel we can watch at work so I’m subjected to that bitch.

  10. I cannot stand Nancy Grace. The only reason I ever watch her, is like a previous poster’s boyfriend, to yell at the TV at her. Unless you’re a cute little missing white girl or a missing white suburban mom, she could give a fck less about you. It was not her business or place to interrogate that woman, she is not a law enforcement officer, and no matter what ms. grace’s personal holier than thou opinion, ms.duckett had yet to be charged or convicted or any crime. Funny how she wants to put other people’s dirty laundry out there, but wants to hide her own.

  11. I dislike this woman with a passion. And I pray Karma tears her up. She has made such a living exploiting people.

Lets just hope nature steps out of line this one time just for her, and allows for bad things to happen to a bad person. And lets hope she doesn’t have enough money to buy her way out of this one, as the judicial system often allows for people like her who are somewhat, but not completely in the spotlight.

If she does buy her way out, we can only hope that other news agencies exploit HER.

Oh what a wonderful fantasy world that would be.
    🙄

  12. Best show I ever watched, was a Leverage episode that was (probably) about Nancy Grace. I laughed so hard.

  13. Nancy Grace cares about no one but herself. She even exploits her own infant children for attention, which I find especially disturbing and abhorrent. Of course her fans are a bunch of mouth-breathers, so they lack the intellectual acumen necessary to deduce the answer to the age-old question “What’s wrong with this picture?”

Her deposition should be released, imo. After all, she constantly does to others exactly what she fears someone will do to her, so I have zero sympathy for her position in this matter.

    1. Of course her fans are a bunch of mouth-breathers

      Bravo!

  14. I was so surprised when she had twins, I always thought she was a tranny. Now I realize what a grievous insult that is to anyone transgender. Nancy Grace is a parasite. She preys on the weak. Do I think she caused that woman’s suicide? Probably not,but what about ethics in journalism? If she spent less time putting her makeup on with a butter knife and more time being a compassionate reporter,I’d probably like her better.

    1. haaaahaaaaaahaaaa!!! That is funny. Thanks for the giggle. 😆

  15. Here’s my “humble legal opinion” on why she wasn’t charged with hindering the investigation:

When Melinda agreed to appear on her show, that was her choice and the police really didn’t have a legal say. Even if they had decided to arrest Melinda, she could have still consented to an interview with Nancy Grace. Also, the interview itself didn’t really “hinder” the investigation. I would imagine that most police agencies would have no real problem with suspects granting interviews in the hopes that they let something slip that could incriminate them. And while Melinda didn’t incriminate herself in the legal sense of the word, she did make herself look guilty as hell. The fact that Melinda committed suicide the next day — a possible basis for “hindering” — also can’t be blamed on Nancy Grace (as most on here agree, even those that HATE the woman).

I do think, that if the police could pick any reporter to do an interview, Nancy Grace would be a good choice with her background in Prosecution (That’s just my own opinion though).

  16. So she should be used for wrongful death bc you don’t like her? Yeah sounds fair.

  17. I am not sticking up for the “mom” in this case but I HATE Nancy Grace nearly as much as molesters &amp abusers. I wish Ms Grace would take a page from Melindas book &amp just do the world a fucking favor.

    1. While we here at BB do not condone convincing people to commit suicide we do like the cut of your jib.

      1. Oh, I would never attempt to convince her to do so, In reality I just meant that I wish she would shut up forever, and I would find no joy in it if she ever did so because she does have children to think about, but MY GODS it seems like a great idea every time I hear her friggin voice…

        1. And what’s up with that hair?
