Statutory MySpace rape is still a MySpace rape

27-year-old Daryl Sage Waldron of Waynesville, NC was arrested in Missouri for having sex, child rape, with a 14-year-old girl that he met on MySpace when she was 13.

Waldron, who is a member of the Army Reserve, flew from NC to Springfield, Missouri where he rented a car and then picked the 14-year-old up and took her to Branson where he statutory raped her. The pair was gone for 8 days while law enforcement was looking for them.

He’s being held on $500K bond since prosecutors consider him a flight risk since he could possibly find his way overseas with the Reserves.

I wonder if we’ll hear the ‘she lied about her age’ line this time.

And again parents, I can’t beat this into your heads enough. Leaving your kids unattended on the internet is basically the equivalent of inviting predators into your house.

  First off according to the arrest warrant his address is listed in North Carolina and according to the 2nd article I linked to he allegedly confessed…
  
  Officers say they confronted Waldron at a rental car check-out counter at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. After reading him his rights, officers say Waldron confessed to meeting the girl in October of last year at the Radisson Hotel in Branson for sex. They say he also admitted he had sex with her at the Fall Creek Resort in Branson during the week of February 15-23 of this year.

    Wow, okay. Guantanamo Bay. Its a military Post. Being overseas isn’t something people lie about. There’s a military post there, and I spoke with some of his roommates. I saw pictures of him at the airport. I also saw his itinerary. And another thing, that article you linked too. He isn’t being held in the Taney County Jail, he’s in military custody at Ft. Leonard Wood. This means he was assigned to a unit and is working. This is something you can look up. And I’ve done mt research on you as well, and what Ive read pretty much marks you as a “cyber creeper” . I can’t say I disagree..

        Did you click on his case file and look at the docket entries?? One of them says he was ordered to be released to military custody. This was in March.

    he was actually stationed there for the military, he went to the united states for leave and never came back… bc he got arrested

I just figured out that the girl that was commenting here either was the victim in this case or is pretending to be.

Either way they’ve been banned from the site.

And if it her your guardians need to do a better job of keeping you off the internet in order to defend a sexual predator.

    Yep. But these days. Parents give the kid a laptop, or a desktop to use in their room. So they are out of the loop. There are programs you can buy to limit the time, and the sites they can visit but parents trust their kids. On Myspace or facebook or other sites. You enter the info. No way to confirm what you put in. So old men can create a profile of a 18 year old kid. My stance is. Trust nothing on the net.
