Prosecutor reveals new details in West Memphis 3 negotiations:

I originally posted about Scott Ellington here. He’s the prosecutor that allowed the West Memphis 3 to walk out of prison and escape justice. In my last post, I alleged that the release of the WM3 was nothing more than a political stepping stone since he announced his candidacy to run for congress. Mr. Ellington says otherwise.

Ellington said any speculation he was seeking higher office when he agreed to release the West Memphis Three last August belittles everyone involved.

“Any opportunities were not in my mind because I thought this was the right thing to do,” said Ellington.

How in the world was it the right thing to do? Time and time again the Supreme Court of Arkansas upheld their convictions. Releasing them belittled the real victims in this case, the three little boys who were brutally murdered and mutilated. You disgrace their memory by using them in a run for political office.

And once again as politicians are wont to do Ellington is speaking out of both sides of his mouth on the situation…

Action News 5 asked Ellington if he believed the West Memphis Three were innocent or guilty.

“What I believe now is not really relevant, I guess,” he answered. “It’s what was the law at the time in the case.”

Ellington said District 1 needs to send a proven consensus builder to Washington to bring back jobs.

“It shows that I have the courage to make the right decision and stand by that decision,” said Ellington.

It doesn’t show that at all. What it shows is that you’re trying to play both sides of the fence in order to gain as many votes as possible. In reality, it was a non-decision to allow them to go free while pleading no-contest. A non-decision that a conniving politician would make.

  1. Have you researched this case at all?!?! These kids were innevent even the victims parents have said so, the DNA evidence all points away from these kids, just like there’s no physical or even motive for these three to have committed these crimes. I just started reading this page and now I’m done, I know this means nothing to you because just like the prosecution and judge and police officers in this case you cant go back on what you have already said, everyone makes mistakes and whether you admit it or not you are mistaken in the guilt of these now men.

    1. Innevent? I’m going to let that one slide. Not all the parents have said so by the way. You may want to look up Todd and Dana Moore.
Also as I’ve said before the DNA evidence in this case is inconclusive at best.

Lastly I have no problem going back on what I’ve already said because I used to be a WM3 supporter.

      1. stench,  You should be so very happy that being stupid isn’t considered a crime, Hell other wise you would be doing life behind bars.
