Odgren attorney: Throw out first-degree murder indictment:

Criminal defense attorneys never fail to amuse me. Take for instance the attorney to John Odgren, Jonathan Shapiro. Mr. Shapiro wants the first-degree murder indictment against his client because the prosecution did not instruct the grand jury properly as to Odgren’s mental and psychological conditions.

For those of you just joining us a then 16-year-old Odgren is accused of stabbing 15-year-old James Alenson to death in a bathroom at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. Alenson was allegedly chosen at random by Odgren. Odgren has been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome which some think that Odgren was not responsible for his own actions. To which I say bullshit.

Aspergers does not cause someone to become randomly violent and to claim such will only make people with Asperger’s outcast and reviled probably more than they already are. Asperger’s did not make John Odgren plan this murder months in advance. Asperger’s did not put the knife into John Odgren’s hand.

So in my unprofessional opinion, I think the prosecution absolutely did the right thing by not disclosing his alleged mental deficiencies to the grand jury. To do so would be almost criminal.

    And what is the harm of giving someone all the facts not just those they consider relevant? Shouldn’t the grand jury be allowed to decide what is relevant or not?

    I am not calling myself an expert, I am just wondering wheres the harm in giving them all the facts. And seeing as how you can’t answer the question can I assume there is none? He has a condition that has been known to cause violence in some cases, why not tell them about it.

    What’s wrong with stating all the facts? I keep doing that about you. Stating all the facts about you so others can understand your angle and where you get your questionable opinions. That way when other people see that you are a virgin chronic bedwetter who laughs out loud maniacally when alone and wants to give oral sex to other boys, they can understand why you want child killers to be personally counseled by you. Just throwing all the facts in there. Like a giant fact stew. Zappa can add to this stew too, as too many cooks can’t spoil a fact soup. No, too many facts doesn’t muddy the waters or confuse any issues… facts are just facts and as long as they are out there, we might as well get all of them.

    Facts and libel are too totally different things. I did bedwet for a while, big deal millions of Americans have. Virgin, you have no evidence of this so be quiet until you come up with some. Pedophile, you have absolutely no evidence of this, so see above. I don’t think I ever used the word manically or alone when describing my laughter problems from about 5-7 years ago I believe. So if your going to put all the facts out there at least put them in context.

    Odgren has a diagnosis of asperger’s, this has been used as a defense in other cases, and has lead to violence before, thats putting the information in context.

    You have implied it in the past Belchy so I always assume you will imply it again. And asperger’s doesn’t always make people violent, but there have been cases where its happened in the past, particularly with younger ones. Though I also assume many AS kids will develop PTSD from how society treats them like shit so it could be that too. Fact is only one boy knows what happened in there and hes not too trustworthy.

    I never said anything other then sometimes violent when younger. Remember PTSD doesn’t neccessarily equal violent either. And creepy is a matter of opinion, mainly yours. So what exactly was your point again.
