Man Accused Of Using MySpace To Promote Child Porn:

Police from The Colony, Texas are looking for one 24-year-old Jordan Ward. Ward is accused of having posted child porn on his MySpace profile.

According to police records, late last year MySpace.com officials alerted authorities that one of their users uploaded child pornography to their profile. The pornography “depicted nine young girls between the approximate ages of 10 through 13 engaged in… intercourse with an older unknown male,” according to documents.

Ward’s father said that his son is out of the country which leads me to think two things. One, he lived in mom’s basement and two he’s probably in Mexico. I wonder what Mexican prisons do to pedophiles.

    Wow….that’s just right down the street from me. I don’t know what they do to pedophiles in Mexico but his chances aren’t much better here in Texas.

This d-bag slept under a Nazi flag and had various other Nazi artifacts and propaganda all over his room. I hope they find this piece of work.

    This is bogus. Jordan is my friend. He’s served the time for his previous crimes and he’s a proud American (yes with Mexican heritage…he’s proud of that too)

    JohnDoe criticizes Jordan for being a Neo-Nazi. I will not speak poorly of his political affiliations because the freedom to choose which political ideals to believe is fundamentally American.

    I’ve known Jordan for more than a year as a coworker and a friend. He’s been nothing but respectful and kind to everyone I’ve seen him interact with. There is no proof that the picture in question is even really child pornography (the police report only estimates the age with no real expertise) The fact of the matter is that this is a non-violent crime (if even a crime at all!) and should be treated as such.

    My best wishes go out to Jordan and his family. I hope this issue is exposed for its non-credibility and blows over.

    JQ: Non-violent crime? Are you delusional? Rape of a child is a VERY violent crime. And this asshole had PICTURES of the acts on his MySpace. As for saying: “the police report only estimates the age with no real expertise”. Police ARE experts on such things – it’s their job. It’s kind of hard to mistake an 18 year old (legal age for porn) for a ten year old. Unless, of course, YOU are as messed up in the head as your friend is, which seems quite likely at this point.

    Well JQ, finding a firearm is not bogus. And when someone in America is tried and convicted by a jury of their peers of assault with a deadly weapon that person loses some of their rights as a citizen of this country. One of them being the right to bear arms. Even if he has served time for his prior felony, this “non violent” one is felony number two and a felon in possesion of a weapon is felony number three. I know this is America but how many times do we need to allow people to screw up and give them more chances. 3 felonies = life. When one does their time they are supposed to be rehabilitated, not go out and commit one or two more felonies. Although I know Jordan and I’d say the charge is somewhat suprising who really knows this guy anyway, and nobody I know is suprised he commited another crime. Just suprised which one he chose to commit.

    Angel: Please do not make personal remarks about me being “delusional” or “messed up in the head.” I try to treat everybody with compassion and dignity and just because we disagree about some fundamentals doesn’t mean anyone needs to get personal.

    Jordan has been accused of “Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography” thus any talk of him actually raping the females is nonsense. After all, the articles clearly state that the man in the picture was not Jordan, but some other, unknown, male.

    As for the age of the females in question: I did not mean to degrade The Colony Police Department’s ability to recognize an age group however, until these females are identified and show proof of their age, there is always the possibility that they are above 18 years old regardless of how young they appeared to the officer who wrote the report.

    As for the gun: The simple fact that the gun was found in Jordan’s room speaks volumes. I’m not entirely sure of the law or of what rights he has (or should I say what rights he doesn’t have?) so I won’t go in to defending his right to have it. I will point out however, that the report neglects to indicate what type of gun was found. It may be a rifle for hunting or a collectible handgun. Also they fail to state if any bullets were found with it or if it had ever been fired. These facts are necessary to analyze the situation entirely.

    Also I believe that the search of Jordan’s house shouldn’t have been warranted. An anonymous tip from myspace shouldn’t be reasonable cause…although the Supreme Court has a record of allowing it (thats a shame)…I guess this is a whole different issue.

    Finally, I feel the need to explain what I mean when I say that myself and Jordan’s friends are standing behind him. I am simply saying that if he needs help finding a lawyer, moral support, or anything else along those lines that we’ll be here for him and we will help him in those regards with no questions asked. I was not suggesting that I will help him hide from the police. I would simply see to it that he is dealt with in a humane way while retaining all of his rights as an American.

    Jordan: I still don’t know if you can read this but if you can…I love you because you’re one of my best friends. I want you to get through all of this without getting hurt so play it cool…your friends are always here for you!

    I don’t care who actually committed the rapes. The fact that he had those pictures on his MySpace indicates that he supports and promotes such behavior. You might even say he ‘paid’ for the rapes to happen. I believe the legal description would be accessory after the fact.

    Good point Angel. A person who buys pictures of children engaging in intercourse is essentially paying for rape. We can agree on this point.

    There is actually an error in this article because the article says the picture depicted “intercourse” while the police report says it depicted the females posing in a “Lewd Manner.” I think this is an essential difference because the producer of the shot may not have paid for rape but for molestation instead…neither one is acceptable but their criminal implications are far different nonetheless.

    There is probably no proof that Jordan actually paid for the photo so for the sake of argument we can set the financial aspect aside and concentrate on the charges that he may face. (“Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography”)

    Because of the fact that the females in the picture were not identified and thus we don’t know their ages for sure, I cannot agree (beyond reasonable doubt) that the picture was in fact child pornography. More so, I am not convinced that Jordan was “promoting” child pornography because this term suggests that he had something to gain monetarily…if this were the case, there’d be a clear money trail.

    When I see people write about Jordan, I hate that they dehumanize him into being nothing more than a pedophile on the run. It is important to know that Jordan is a kind person. In the last conversation I had with him (before this article was written), he was telling me of his desire to finish college and start making good money so that he could buy his parents something nice as a “thank you” for supporting him. He’s one of the most loyal people I know and of course a dear friend. Please realize that the news companies and the police reports are not always 100 percent accurate. Only trust the facts and please remember that Jordan is a very important part of many people’s lives regardless of his innocence or guilt.

    I understand your desire to defend your friend, and I hope you can understand the fact that I think he needs to go to jail. Just because he seems to be a ‘good person’ and he has been a good friend to YOU, does not mean that he is incapable of committing heinous crimes against others. Or promoting such behavior in others. And, ‘promoting’ does NOT necessarily mean that he would have something to gain financially. I promote the arrest, conviction, and incarceration of pedophiles, and I have never earned a penny from my beliefs.

    Just because someone is seen as ‘good and kind’ by others does not mean that they are ‘good and kind’ people, or incapable of deviance. My mother’s father was, by all appearances, a good man. He was a good father to his kids, a good husband to his wife, a good provider, and a deacon at his church. There was just that one small breach in his character, though. You see, he raped his own daughter(s), and molested his own grandchildren. And everybody who knew him said, “Noooo…..he COULDN’T have…”. But he did. So, you’ll understand why your assurances of his innocence mean so very little to me. The proof is in the pictures.

    By the same token, wanting to finish college or take care of his family does not make him a ‘kind’ person. Ted Bundy had a college degree, and took good care of his girlfriend from what I understand he even worked at some sort of volunteer rape/suicide crisis hotline, for God’s sake – but he also MURDERED dozens of women. Outside appearances are not always a true indicator of the inner workings of a human being. It seems to me that YOU need to look at the facts – and stop depending on your emotions and feelings – in order to see him for what he is.

    Comparing Jordan to your rapist grandfather is ridiculous same with comparing him to Ted Bundy. I have made sound arguments that provide reasonable doubt in regards to the crime that Jordan has been accused of. Suppose that the females in the picture are of age. This case would be squashed. Also, if they lied about their age and provided appropriate (yet false) proof of their DOB, the case would be thrown out again. There simply is not enough information available in order to prove that the picture even had minors in it. Until a positive ID has been made, I will have doubts that he even possessed child pornography. There is no way that he was promoting it (promoting is a term used to suggest that he was peddling the porn for cash or drugs) because no money trail was found and there is only one picture in question. I suspect that a real child porn promoter would have more than one picture.

    The gun possession is more likely what Jordan will be charged of. Even this accusation has a major hole in it. Suppose that the investigation can prove that the gun is Jordan’s and that he in fact had bullets with it. I still think that the case has a chance of being thrown out by the judge because Jordan’s house was searched illegally. Sure the police had a warrant and did nothing wrong there, but I imagine that somewhere along the line a judge may deem that a warrant cannot be issued because of an anonymous tip.

    The fourth amendment protects Americans from unreasonable searches. I am suggesting that anonymous tips that lead to supposedly legal searches are a threat to our rights as Americans. If anonymous tips were considered to be reasonable enough to issue a warrant, there is no need to explain how this power could be abused by judges and other members of the government. The fourth amendment is just as important as the freedom of speech and religion. It is an essential part of the American way of life and should be protected. I will keep a close eye on how my local government officials react to such unreasonable searches and vote accordingly. Unfortunately for us, most judges have a tendency to break our constitutional rights…I guess thats why the supreme court exists.

Everything in my last post applied, and if you can’t see it, I feel sorry for you. Your entire reason for trying to excuse his behavior is that he’s your friend, and you like him. No facts exist to back up your claims. And again, I’m sorry, but “he’s my friend” is not a sufficient defense.

    JQ: tips from myspace are NOT anonymous. Bullets have no affect on how he will be charged. If the gun was a collectible or a a hunting weapon it doesn’t matter. People who have been convicted of felonies especially assault with a deadly weapon are not permitted to own weapons. They also lose many of their rights that give ordinary people the benifit of the doubt in the eyes of the law. All this American blah blah blah. This dude can’t even vote. I feel for his parents and nobody else… He did this to himself.

    JQ– I wish i could be on your side about this. But I just can’t be sure. He did run. I dont think he would have ran if he thought he could get out of this.. And if he was innocent, he would think hed able to get out of it.

    Comparing him to a rapist is out of line…. However, it’s just as disgusting and just as heart breaking for those children. he has a criminal record, this is true… but hes come a long way since that… which is why this is so shocking.

    I wish it werent true just as much as you. Jordan did have a good side to him, but he has a dark side. as corny as that may sound… It’s true. There is a part of jordan he closes off to the rest of the world. I can honestly say I dont think anyone knows jordan entirely… its hard to put something past someone like that.

    To be precise, the police report says “an anonymous tip via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children” was used to obtain the search warrant. (keyword being “anonymous”..you all know how I feel about that already.)

    Thank you Jon Doe for more info on Jordan’s legal status I didn’t know that bullets wouldn’t play an important role in his prosecution. I also appreciate your sympathy for his parents…they are really concerned for his safety considering that the police are considering him armed and dangerous right now…nothing good can come from that type of status.

    I’m finding it difficult to swallow that nobody here has reasonable doubt. Just because a police report says something doesn’t mean its true…we need hard facts…IDs, proof of age, ect.

    Angel, I asked to try and keep everything professional and you are apparently not capable of that. My impression of you is that you posses a mentality that says a person is guilty until proven innocent. Please do some research and see how many hundreds of people have been put to death for crimes they didn’t commit (most of them in TX) and how many thousands more have been incarcerated while being truly innocent. Your type is a poison to the American society. As long as people like you, who have limited compassion for your fellow human beings still maintain this dangerous state of mind, America will continue to kill more of its own citizens than any other country, we will still torture our prisoners of war, and support the mass murder of civilians all over the world and all of it stems from your mentality that says a person must provide proof of their innocence! Until you change your destructive attitude towards suspected criminals, I will be ashamed to call you a peer of mine. In America we are innocent until proven guilty without a shadow of a doubt.     And to address a few of your other misguided statements:
    1) ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ only applies to a court of law – not a court of public opinion or a crime blog. If that bothers you, you should probably go to a site that follows courtroom protocol. This one does not. Good luck in your search. The ‘holes’ you say you have pointed out amount to little more than you disparaging the police, and claiming that he is your friend and you know him. Perhaps a better use of your time would be starting a defense fund for your friend, instead of coming here to argue with people *like me* who believe that if child porn is found on a computer, then the person who put it there should be jailed.
    2) I have plenty of compassion – for the victims of child pornography. If it turns out that your friend is innocent, or he gets acquitted, or you can reasonably show me that he has been wronged, I will be happy to offer my apologies. As long as your only reasonable doubt is that there might be a few 20-year-olds who look like they’re ten and you know the suspect and he is such a great guy, then I’m sorry, but I have no intention of changing my opinion.
    3) You are on here talking constantly of all things American, and the wonderful rights we have here. You are right. I have the right to my own opinion, and the right to voice it (free speech). Your friend has a right to a fair trial. That will NOT occur on this blog, no matter how much you wish it to be so. If you are going to champion a few of the rights of this great country, then you should be willing to champion all of them, and know how they apply to the general population.
    4) I don’t need to do any research to know how many people (in the past) have been wrongfully convicted and incarcerated. There have been multitudes, I’m sure. That said – with the new forensic techniques (DNA, computer tracing programs, etc.) – a false conviction these days would have to involve gross mismanagement of evidence, or outright fabrication of evidence. Is that what you think is happening in this case?
    5) You also said: “In America we are innocent until proven guilty without a shadow of a doubt.” Wrong. If you are going to quote legalese, then get your quotes right. The standard is “beyond reasonable doubt”, not “without a shadow of a doubt.”

    Are you going to continue returning with the same comments, and admonitions to people *like me* who don’t think that being a friend of yours gives him reasonable doubt? Or are you going to take my advice, and start a legal fund for him, and try to come up with evidence which might actually exonerate him? For his sake, I hope you choose the latter.

    i know quite a bit about the ‘behind the scenes’ of this story — if you will. but i wont get into that for the entire world to see on the web. its a moot point. JQ, id gladly discuss it with you since i know much jordan respects you.

    Guilty or not — I havent decided nor am I sure if Im going to decide where I stand on that, (i wouldnt entirely think its beyond him. but i also cant believe it at the same time) but — either way he is still a human being, and he deserves that respect just like anyone else. I know for a fact that the last thing his family wants is for arguments like this to be publicized on the internet about their family and their son.

    1 – OK point taken
    2 – Your compassion is limited to innocent people only and you openly admit that.
    3 – I’m sorry if I’ve unintentionally thwarted your freedom of speech. Please know that I agree with the famous quote “I may not like what you’re saying but I would die to protect you right to say it.” (or something along those lines.)
    4 – Perhaps modern technology has played a role in saving the innocent but several contemporary cases still exist where we’ve still managed to kill and incarcerate innocent people. I still don’t trust the system…and yes, fabrication of evidence is never out of the question. (Just realized how off topic we are at this point…oh well…its my 1st amendment and all haha)
    5 – “Wrong.” haha ok you’re right please scratch my previous statements to say “Beyond reasonable doubt” it won’t change anything (I imagine that Char is laughing right now)

    For the record: I doubt that the picture in question is in fact child pornography because the girl in the picture hasn’t been identified or shown proof of her DOB…

    I’ve done some research on previous and similar cases and it seems that about half the time a “mystery girl” turns out to be so much of a hole in the evidence that judges will not allow the prosecution to use it in their case…a child porn case with no child porn tends to dissolve itself rather effectively.

    I don’t think that much will change but if Jordan is somewhere where he can read this, I’d like to think that he will see my comments and know that people are on his side. I imagine he’s got a lot of stress right now and he feels like his friends may feel betrayed by these accusations. That’s just simply not true…Jordan knows he’d have to do a lot more than post a pic on his myspace to make us mad at him. My girlfriend, Monica, and I are really more upset about the fact that it might be years b4 we can go out and get a drink at Stan’s with Jordan again…If we even get to at all! Maybe we’ll have to go to Mexico to get those drinks! (el Stanito’s???) Anyway I know that the sooner he turns himself in, the sooner he can get all of this behind him…I look forward to hangin’ out with him again.

    Ok, ive been thinking about this over and over again and when speaking to my mom i realized something…How does one upload porn onto myspace??? you cant even upload a half naked picture on myspace. how exactly would you upload a picture of little naked kids???

    Also, i was watching dateline and they had a special about child porn in the state of california. They did a test that shows up red on every household that at that moment was downloading child pornography… When they ran the test 3/4 of the state was covered in Red dots. The FBI only was concerned with the households downloading/uploading over 500 videos.

    Yeah Char! I’ve been suspecting that the child porn charges were actually a fabricated excuse that the police used to obtain a search warrant…Is that fair? I don’t think so!

    Imagine if the Californian police executed a search on three quarters of their state! According to The Colony’s judge, it would be a legal move on the part of the government. I think that if this happened, Californians would take to the street and riot! We’re watching our fourth amendment disintegrate before our eyes.

    As a true Constitutionalist, I believe that the authorities should have a warrant in order to observe our online activity…after all, isn’t watching our every online move a violation of our privacy? The government’s violation of our fourth amendment is just as atrocious as if they tried to establish a national religion!

    Unfortunately Texas authorities are predominantly republicans who have little respect for individual rights. Don’t get me wrong believe it or not, I’m technically a republican but I usually like to specify that I’m a “Ron Paul republican” because that indicates that I’m nearly a Libertarian and have almost an entirely different set of political ideologies.

    If the government really respected the constitution, Jordan would have no problems right now. Do you think that the crime rate in The Colony will drop now that Jordan is out of the country…its ridiculous to think so! This situation has improved nothing…thus it is a waste of the city’s resources!

    Jq or Jonathan whatever your name is I can’t believe you can sit her and defend someone like this. You claim you knw him so do I I’ve actually know Jordan for over ten years and. Must say I had to part ways with him as friends cuz yes he is a dumbass and fuck up and he’s always has and always will be. You talk bout he is only suspected of this and yet to find out if a crime was committed or not then if that was the case why wouldn’t he just lawyer up and turn himself in. If he never committed the crime then why the hell is he hiding he shouldn’t have anything to really worry bout right? Its really disturbing to hear you stick up for someone who is even suspected of doing anything of this nature. I’m a father and have a beautiful 2 year old daughter and if anyone was ever to do anything remotely close to what he is being accused of then there would be only one of us going to jail and that would be me Jordan wouldn’t be here anymore, and I put that on everything I love.     I’m sorry that your relationship with Jordan was less than desirable perhaps his friendship with you was much different than his friendship with me. I feel that Jordan has been nothing less than a great friend. That being said, I must insist that you demonstrate tact while speaking of Jordan after all, many people who love and respect him (despite the accusations) may read this. Lets act like courteous individuals.

    I can understand how my constant posts in this forum may seem odd to you but, to me, loyalty is one of the most important aspects of friendship. My objective in writing here may be seen as a combination of my desire to demonstrate my loyalty to Jordan and add a Libertarian’s point of view to the criminal system. I like to think that some people like to have their beliefs challenged in order to learn and grow as individuals. To some I may be a catalyst for individual growth (meanwhile others may be a catalyst for myself).

    Unfortunately, I am away from my hometown of The Colony because I go to school in College Station. A personal discussion would be near impossible.

    It seems evident that Jordan was not pushing child porn. After all, he was only found to have one pornographic image that may or may not have minor-aged models. There is no way possible that he could make money by peddling one picture. His real problem is that he was found to have a gun in his room despite his restrictions against it. My argument is that the fourth amendment should have protected him from this search…although Judge Hollifield may have written a warrant for the search, I do n0t agree that a tip of this nature should have been considered sufficient probable cause.

    If you would like to, answer these questions. Perhaps we can better understand each other’s thoughts.

    1) How would the one picture in Jordan’s possession effect your daughter? I don’t understand your hostility in this respect.

    2) Do you believe that non-violent crimes should entail long-term jail time? Should some non-violent crimes carry the death penalty?

    3) Should the right to deny a police search be overruled on account of a non-reliable tip? Also, what do you consider “probable cause” in this situation?

    I hope to hear your take on these questions…happy late father’s day btw!
